I too had a bad day Thursday 1-5 , with Minnesota my one winner.
( not using Sagarin - using the yahoo stat that maglio mentioned)
Two days 3-7 on my 10 dollar plays - minus 36.38
I'm using looser criteria than others in this thread. If it's a dog under 150, I am including even tho from the opening lines the team might slip into the negative juice. As others have said, this is definitely a trial period.
My slate for Friday it's a big one.- bear in mind I'm not using Sagarin, so fading Verlander is a PLAY for me.

1) Yes, a dog can have a long winning streak and conversely a fav can have a long losing streak.
2) Yes, it is rare, but a dog with a top 20 pitcher is a play. If dog and fav are both top 20, play the under.

Woody, anyone who started this system at the beginning of the year wasn't paying attention. For instance, how did you place wagers the first five games? There were no Sagarin ratings on any pitchers this year so how would you know if they were top 20? And even after the first week, are you going to trust a pitchers numbers based on one start? This is why I make sure that the starting pitcher is in the top portion of the ratings based on innings pitched, and also why I started tracking this on Monday 4/18.

Taurus, I think it is VERY important to use the Sagarin ratings for this system. It is what the article is based on, and more importantly, the pitchers are rated based on his NPERA versus a standard ERA. What this is doing, as you can see, is giving you WAY too many picks per day. In the long run, it's going to be hard to win with 8-12 plays per day. Just my opinion for what its worth.

AS far as number of plays, if Maglio won as much as he says he did at 50 a play, he had to have had a lot of plays to get to that profit range I would think.

I actually don't hate Cin or SD. Volquez for Cincy can be overpowering and his best effort came on the road this year, plus that have some decent bats. As far as SD goes, if you can get a top 20 with the dog, you got to love that. Phily hitting .213 vs lefties on the road, SD hitting .288 vs lefties at home. I like SD.

Another 0fer - DOH! All I can say after the past 2 nights is have patience.....things WILL turn around.
Luckily I have minimized my personal losses due to my analysis on "borderline" plays which I think is integral for this system at this point in the season due to the small sample size of pitching stats.
As I expected Cole dominated the Padres, Clayton Richard did his thing and my "Unofficial" play of the Under in that game hit without a sweat.
Depending on the restrictions you put on your play perhaps you had a No Action on CIN/STL since Volquez didn't start - I was off this play from the beginning.
My analysis of the "borderline" plays netted me a 1-2 night and while not ideal - still hurts A LOT less than 0-4. I really can't stress more how important it is if you are going to play this system right now to really do some homework on certain plays.
I will keep posting my analysis for discussion - POIZEN def. appreciate/respect your insight - you obv know what ur talking about.
Lets get back on track this weekend! Hopefully the rain won't scare our action away!

LOL - yea man you got that right - was texting a friend whos a huge phillies fan and I am a huge mets fan so we know the NL East pretty well. We were commenting on how ridiculous it is that this guy had a near 2nd no no when most of the time he is a downright AWFUL pitcher. I guess when hes on hes unhittable - just on "on" that much lol.
Regardless, always nice to get the W after you screw up booking a bet - def. has happened to me a few times....

Waiting on a number to be posted for CLE - but they will more than likely be a GO!
No real "borderline" plays here - 6.5 with super juice is a tough under to bet, but it worked out last night with SD/PHI so I will be most likely playing this.
As a Mets fan I feel obligated to mention (considering the fact i've bet against them the past 2 nights and they won, he he) that their lineup seems to be trending up right now and they are sending a relative unknown to the mound today who has pretty good numbers in limited action career wise.....will probably still be playing ARZ here anyway - can't give my Metsies too much credit until they show me they can win 3 straight - also I try to stay extermely impartial when involving one of my teams. Just really not a very good number IMO, but I know if I lay off the Mets will go down in flames lol.

Also a Mets fan but bet against them in this system. A win-win situation for me if they lose I'm glad a few bucks go into my roll if they win I'm just as happy to see it. Probably a RO today its pouring on LI.
