Not sure where M's fit in here, as Lee hasn't faced pads in over 2 seasons and I was talking more about the H2H matchup than anything else.  However, it's getting late and I haven't completely capped the game(s), but I know I won't be laying that juice.  I hope you hit.

It's not likely but if it does we'll look damn smart. Just can't lay that juice in this situation.

Secondly the royals deserve more respect then you might think. The red sox are on of my favorite teams and lester has not been dominant most of this year, he is coming off the DL and will most likely have a pitch count, the bull pen for boston has been used this wknd.

The mariners are only gonna get love from the garcia -200 wtf crowd. There will still be plenty of money on the yankees. Mariners losers of 15 in a row will not get any respect. Although they have scored quite a few runs and have been in most of those games so they deserve a lot more then what they'll get. Same with astros.

"Sharp" doesn't mean play the biggest, dumbest line on the board and pray. Just an FYI. That's a square play in reality.

Cliff Lee pitched for the Mariners last year and the Padres beat him badly.

That Padres team is very different than the current version.

What are you talking about I had NY RL today. Barely came through as mariano made me sweat it out. There is nothing after the fact about it, gio is overrated due to his numbers. bet gio when he pitches on the west coast or in a big park, anywhere else and youre playing with fire, especially with that sad excuse for an offense.

It cliff lee in philly, every donk in the country saw the same stats as you. Those of us who wanna play a sharp play are gonna play padres based soley on the situation and pray that it hits.

That is def. not a square play. The Padres are a sharp play. Just most of the people on this forum do not know why and will not list why. They are just gonna roll with the big dog because everyone is on the phillies. They may get lucky they may not, there are however clear and solid reasons on why someone should take the padres, most of them have been listed here, and i can bet you'll probably find one of those reasons in threads tomorrow. Instead it'll be a whole bunch of emoticons and saying gl to people who said gl to the op in their thread.

A "sharp" refers to a play someone makes who bets and profits.

A "square" plays refers to someone who bets and has a deficit.

Only books know where their sharp money is going and where their square money is going. A big dog play doesn't mean it's sharp.

Happy I could clear that up for you because I didn't understand the terms either when I started betting.

My fade friend is all over the Padres tomorrow after what he saw tonight in the Blue Jays/Rangers game. It is what it is. Sometimes squares over think stuff and jump on the dogs to be sharp. Then, they end up on the square side again.

The "sharp" play could be the Total in this game for all we know.

OK...I don't cap based on pitchers alone so I guess that's where we varied.  I tend to not look past the current season (hence my stupidity on trades and stuff).

I play angles more than lines but those are the prevailing statistics behind Cliff Lee and the Padres.

I mean, there are all kinds of statistics people can pull out to back their play.

    Like the ump:

    • Home team is 13-4 in Drakes last 17 Monday games behind home plate.

uhhh no it's not just about the play its about the play over a number of outcomes. If it was the case where it was a play someone made and won every play that won would be a sharp play.

    Here's a fun one:

    • Phillies are 5-0 in Lees last 5 starts as a favorite of -201 or greater.

    Wrong, again.

If the majority of sharp players (players who have a profit with a sportsbook over the course of time) played the UNDER in PHI/SD today and lost, then the sharp side lost. The sharp side does lose, ya know?

If the majority of square players (players who have a deficit with a sportsbook over the course of time) played the OVER in PHI/SD today and won, then that square play won.

That's how "sharp" plays and "square" plays are determined by the books. Covers forumers just throw the terms around as insults or to feel cool.

    Here's another fun fact:

    • Padres are 1-10 in their last 11 road games vs. a left-handed starter.

Yep I look at umps too but they are maybe 5% factor in my play unless it's a total.  Strike zones, etc are important.

Phi 4-0 in game 4.  They know how to close out long series. Lee is lights out at home. Phi has all the momentum. Phi 7-0 vs SD this season. I would call that domination.
