I understand CLE is ahead. So how does rain HELP CLE and UNDER backers? My point is if this game is called, both CLE and UNDER bettors get screwed as the flow of this game over 9 innings was clearly in their favor.

It has to go full 9 for full game total. If they get the top of the 5th in and it rains after that Cleveland money line is a winner. There's a small window to get the bottom of the 4th and 5th inning in but more storms coming for the afternoon.

I see what you're saying. I was assuming the game WAS NEVER RESUMED. Just a PPD. I believe if this game plays out over 9, CLE wins 3-1 or so.

in order for the umpires to put the players back on the field dont they have to have some inkling that they could be playing a full nine, not just resuming the game to try and get another inning in..joe maddon has to put his foot down an complain so i can get my TB moneyline money back woooooo!!

Not true, if they knew they only had an hour to play, they would resume just for the sake of having the game official. An official game is all they are looking for at this point. They actually more times than not won't wait as if this game had already gone 5, they'd be more likely to call it sooner.

Being able to complete 9 innings is of no concern, if that were the case, then they wouldn't have a rule that a game is complete after 5.

they wont resume the game unless they feel they have a chance to finish the entire game..They wont put them back on the field just to get the 5 in.

what do you mean, ya they would? thats for if it starts pouring after 7? right now its the bottom of the 4th an a 1-0 game, there is no way there gonna go out there just to get the fifth done with man, no way.

This comment is probably the dumbest I have seen in a while, they resume games in effort to play a full 9 innings.  If for some reason the game can't that is why they have the 5 inning rule.  If they check the weather and realize there is no way to fit in the full 9 they will not attempt.

The rule should be amended to be 7 (6 1/2 if home team up) full for an official game, not this 4 1/2 crap.

NESN showed a live view of Cleveland and the sky is extremely dark and rain is pouring.

Yes they would. They just want to make the game official. Why is that so hard to understand. They couldn't care less if it goes 9.

the situation in cleveland it went from heavy rain to moderate  but the radar shows dark yellow and bright yellow which that means moderate rain. It looks bad in cleveland that yellow part just wont leave. Unfortunately it will rain all day in cleveland. Im positive its going to be PPD.
