Either the Red Sox or Yanks could both possibly very easily win this game.
By no means is this in any way, shape, or form a freebie or such an easy pick..
Both of these pitchers will get hit tonight.

This is an OVER game 100% ... with wakefield pitchin' i think the yanks do some damager here don't be think this one is as much of a lock as you think it is wang is 5-4 against boston life time ....

When your topic is, 'No way in Hell I lose this One,' you should be expecting these types of responses.  Add in the fact that from Massachusetts, and your pick of the month is the Red Sox, that just add's fuel to the fire.

And yes Wang is 3-3 with a 5.11 ERA at Fenway, but Wakefield is 10-17 with a 5.03 ERA against the Yankees.  And yeah Wakefield has a 4.50 ERA, despite him having a 1.86 ERA in April.  His last 3 start's, he has given up 14 earned run's in 17.1 innings.  When he get's hit, he get's hit.  Obviously Wang's ERA is inflated because of his three April starts.   He was solid in his three bullpen sessions, and although he struggled his first start back, his velocity was back, had 8 groundouts and 5 strikeouts with shows his sinker was coming back to form.  Not saying Wang has fully turned the corner, just showing you the other side of your argument.

Once again, I am a Yankees fan for the record. I have taken the Yankees a lot more than the Red Sox this year (just review my posts). There is just no way Wang won't get hit hard tonight. I just think that this is another opportunity for Wakefield to come up big at home. Plus, this is the only team that Ortiz is hitting against this year. I see the Red Sox giving a moster effort tonight in this rivalry game!!

I think both sides of this argument (Yanks or SOXS) is over valuing starting pitching. lets say WANG gives up 4 runs in 2 innings and gets pulled, and WAKE does the same, then it comes down to BP
RED SOXS have one of the best BP in the league and the Yankees BP is not the best. Yanks can take a lead but can WANG then the BP hold the RED SOXS comeback? dont think so. I am a Yankee fan and bet the SOXS last night after reconsidering the stats. everything last night pointed to Burnett showing up and Yanks getting to Beckett like they usually do and what happened? this game really could go either way but just dont over value starting pitching in this one, because if both get knocked around then it comes down to the BP and if thats the case I would side with the SOXS of course. Phil Hughes didnt do much better at Fenway last time out, so dont even tell me he will come in after 2-3 innings and shut down the SOXS

this is my opinion of course, and I wish everyone luck in their picks.
I will be sitting this one out.
