Bit short on time...I've liked the movement on Verlander's pitches the last two outings...he had one bad inning at Seattle which was partially caused by bad defense, but has been solid in every other inning of his last two starts...I still don't like the Angels. Their offense is a far cry from what they once were. Joe Saunders does it with smoke and mirrors. He has one of the worst strikeout rates in the majors and his BABIP makes absolutely no sense. Tigers hitters have had a little success already against him and I think this is a good matchup for them. I think Verlander is much better than he is getting recent credit for and I like what I have seen lately.

scary wind coming from the West today in the NYY game. That's where all the HRs came from this past series against CLE when the wind was blowing out to right.

Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated. While Verlander did look great in his last outing, that one inning was real troublesome in my mind. You could just tell as soon as they got those first two hits that he was out of it already, and this Angels lineup, although banged up, can definitely put a rally together. Saunders's strikeout rate is incredibly low, especially considering his ERA, so I see where you're coming from, and I also tend to fade the Angels, but Verlander on the road coming off a confidence-buster like that game in Seattle was, I'm just not as comfortable with him around even money, especially in a building where the Tigs are 7-25 in their last 32.

You could just tell as soon as they got those first two hits that he was out of it already, and this Angels lineup, although banged up, can definitely put a rally together. I understand Blanton hasn't pitched well this season but does very well against the Brewers in general. He won both times last season home and away against the Brewers. I think the Brewers stink generally speak the top and bottom of the lineups aren't very good. All that info is neither here or there, but lets talk from a numbers stand point.

Just with recent history of these two ball clubs over the last two seasons the Phills have won 13 of 18 and in the last 10 have won 9 of them. I think we can all agree that the Brewers are worse then last season.
Phillies have won 13 of 18 at a 72% clip and 90% over the last 10. I don't see +125 being worth any value today.
Now, they may very well win TODAY, but your philosophy of value like you mentioned today is over the long haul, so thats what i'm basing my thoughts on.

However, when you have time like yesterday, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your write-ups. I know you are under no obligation to do them or even post any of your picks for that matter. In learning how to cap baseball by analyzing your picks, those write-ups really help to get your thought process across as to why you like the value thus giving novice baseball cappers like me invaluable information that I just don't know about or don't know what to look for. In addition, I believe the write-ups clear a bit of the clutter on this thread by not having people constantly question why you like your picks. Again, please do not take this as me questioning your picks or bashing you for not doing write-ups. I clearly understand you have no obligation to do any of this and you are busy man so they are not always feasible to do. I guess i'm just trying to say they really help and our really informative so when you have the time to do them, i gladly appreciate you doing them. GH, Those are exactly what I was going to ask as those short comments were very helpful yesterday. I have followed your baseball selections since the middle of last year and you are a great example with a solid gameplan for others to follow. It is very easy to have delusions of grandour when things are going good, but you always have to be prepared to take the bitter with the sweet like you have done and our wisely advising others to do.
My question is that I am surprised you did not play Wash/Lannan today for the first 5 innings after you finally got a win yesteday. I know from following you that you don't like Jurrgens, but Lannan beat him last year at Atlanta for the game and the 1st 5. And he was one of the few Wash pitchers you won with. So if I may ask, what made you pass this?

I'm not going to post my own thread until I start winning again. However, Game do you ever check out accuscore? where supposedly they simulate the game 10,000 times? Their free play is The Astros over the Dodgers, do you think there is any validity to that?

Since GH didn't answer I am taking the liberty to say if they had last night's game then it is valid. If they didn't, then they could be a day late and a dollar short! This is just my opinion and if you don't like it, I have plenty more!
