@Raiders22 8 of the top 10 teams with the highest team batting average made the playoffs in 2025 with Toronto at 265 leading the way. Anaheim Angels, last place, led the league with strikeouts, Rockies, also in last place, was 2nd in strikeouts. That's because averages matter, and strikeouts matter. And once again, I appreciate your input. BUT STOP USING AI. Toronto led the league last year with a 265 team average
AI is just a quicker way to grab things instead of going to a several sources.
Averages matter, of course.
It is just that other things have shown to matter more over a long period of time now.
If they are better at predicting individual success they are also better at predicting overall team success as a unit as well

But dude, 8 of the top 10 teams with the highest average made the playoffs. The highest average 265 was Toronto who was in the World Series. And you say that's not a predictor? The most strikeouts by a team, angels, Rockies. What place were they in last year? LAST. So, the team with the highest team average was in the World Series, the team that had the most strike outs was in last place. I appreciate your input. But it's frustrating talking to you guys sometimes. It's easy. Toronto, highest team average, in the world series, angels, most strikeouts, last place. That's not a PREDICTION, those are FACTS

Here's another thought. Why do you think the Angels led the league in strikeouts??? Mike Trout 178!!!! Do you think that helped the Angels lead the league in strikeouts? Again, I appreciate your content.

I think 7? But either way the more you parse it out, you can find better offensive categories to determine offensive success.
Then you have to consider defensive and pitching metrics.
There are also good advanced stats to use for those as well.
Then a team can get hot late in the season or post season and have everything come together as the Bluejays almost did; or not, as Arizona and the Mets did not.
I am not completely disagreeing with you about Batting Averages. They are still important to me.
I just have come to the realization that the guys that use the analytics are right when it comes to baseball.
These stats take out a lot of the 'noise' with the old standard stats and clean it up to present a clearer picture.
Analytics just works better in MLB than other sports due to the length of the season.

Okay? No problem with that.
They are just not a good team. Trout is not what he once was. This is still just looking at one statistic that you prefer to look at.
They are also toward the bottom in oRAR -- which is a look at their overall offensive ability. This show sit is not just Trout but the whole team that is not producing offensively. Even if Trout were producing at Judge's level it would not produce many more runs because the team is not good offensively. They have a 4.4 oWAR -- 10th from the bottom. A -.2 dWAR -- 15th from the bottom. 6th from the bottom in pitching WAR at 1.5.
The bottomline is that the Angels simply are NOT a good TEAM. Trout is by far and away the best player on their team, however.
So, those two things can still be true.

@undermysac The original odds were Detroit - 125 Cleveland + 105. I have 500 on that. After Cleveland lost game 1. Then I put 500 more on Cleveland at + 260, but my sportsbook had a "boost" on that wager, so it gave me Cleveland + 440. They do that to entice you making more wagers. So I'm actually sitting pretty good right now. I only put 200 more on Cleveland at +165. So, I have 1,200 riding. I hope you followed all that. Thank you for your input
Hope you hit that. I didn't follow, haven't bet on nba in maybe 8 years or more.

Well, Jorge Soler is an Angel too. That dude whiffs a ton. Not a good combo with him and Trout in that department
