@TxRangers
You should show your family your posts and all the time you spend whining about Trout. I bet they would be impressed.
Still 4th in MVP odds for a reason. ![]()
Maybe those folks realize strikeouts are not the key factor that determines the overall value a baseball players has.

The prop is barely break-even it appears. ![]()

Imagine a candidate winning the MVP, on the worst team in the league ( Angels currently), and a player who hardly contributes to Triple Crown Achievements.
It's a testament to the " dumbing down" of key baseball metrics to measure the value of a player...

@Rush51
Again, you are living in the past. Baseball is not about average or strikeouts. Look at any sport that involves a stick and ball. It’s about how far you can hit it and how many times. Your BIAS does not change the facts

Well, I said I wasn't going to comment if Cleveland lost, and they did, but I have to say a few things on your comment that doesn't make any sense. So, you said a team's average and strikeouts doesn't matter? Right? In 2025 the top 10 team team batting averages, 8 were playoff teams. With Toronto the highest team batting average. I think they were in the World Series? I could be wrong? LOL. But I'm pretty sure they were, but you won't admit it. Also, the team that struck out the most in 2025, #1 angels #2 Colorado and the list goes on. But, according to you, a team's average and how many times a team strikes out, doesn't matter? Right?

What was Chicago White Sox team batting average in 2025? Why don't you go look. They were ranked 27th. What was Washington Nationals team batting average last year? Why don't you go look? And I'm pretty sure Toronto Blue Jays were in the World Series. But according to you. A TEAM BATTING AVERAGE ISN'T IMPORTANT. You have no idea about baseball do you? Watch this? What team have the highest team average in 2025? And was that team in the World Series? Let's see if you answer my questions. You will fiddle faddle around and make a ignorant comment, but you will never answer my question. Come on bro. You said team averages doesn't matter. What team had the highest batting average? And was that team in the World Series? I'll wait for your answer. Oh, you will comment, you'll make an ignorant comment, but you won't answer the question. Just watch.

Come on bro? You said team averages doesn't matter? Okay, I'm giving you a chance to prove it. What team had the highest team batting average in 2025? And was that team in the World Series? You also said strikeouts doesn't matter? What team led the league in strikeouts last year? And was that team in the World Series or in last place? Again, you will fiddle faddle around, you will make a comment. BUT YOU WON'T EVER ANSWER MY QUESTIONS! Watch! I just want to make it clear. You will make a comment, but it won't be the answers to my simple questions?

Come on bro. Here's your chance to shine. You said strikeouts and averages doesn't matter. So, what team have the highest team batting average? What place are their division were they? Did they go to the world series? Now, what team led the league in strikeouts? What place and their division were they? Did they go to the world series? Once again, you will respond with some lame, ignorant comment that won't be the answers to my question. Oh, you will respond back. It just won't be with the answers. Just watch. Or better yet. I will never hear from you again. Just watch. I'm going to be right on either scenario.

Yes I do. It seems too easy to pick Detroit. With that being said. That was my original wager when the series started so I'm sticking with it. I even put more on Cleveland money line today. I actually like Cleveland a lot. ![]()

Is there any way out of it? What were the odds pre flop?

For example:
Top 6 teams by batting average (2025)
How many of these made the playoffs?
From that top 6 AVG group:

These were the clear “elite offense” tier in nearly every advanced metric leaderboard.

Big picture takeaway (OPS vs AVG vs wRC+)
Across all three metrics you asked about:
In practice, the “elite wRC+ clubs” are almost always heavily represented in October baseball, with only occasional misses due to pitching injuries or division strength.

This is the key reason ‘individual’ batters that are better in these advanced analytics categories are better producers for teams in the long run.
That is why teams try to get as many of these types of players as opposed to players with just an over average BA. ![]()

@Raiders22
Glad you brought up wRC+
Aaron Judge 179(#3)
Mike Trout 148(#17)
But Aaron Judge strikes out more than Mike Trout.
Make it make sense ![]()

Dude, you are using AI again? Stop doing that. Toronto led the league 265. Followed by Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Boston, Dodgers. All playoff teams. Do better research. I appreciate your input. But do better research and stop using idiotic AI.

The original odds were Detroit - 125 Cleveland + 105. I have 500 on that. After Cleveland lost game 1. Then I put 500 more on Cleveland at + 260, but my sportsbook had a "boost" on that wager, so it gave me Cleveland + 440. They do that to entice you making more wagers. So I'm actually sitting pretty good right now. I only put 200 more on Cleveland at +165. So, I have 1,200 riding. I hope you followed all that. Thank you for your input

8 of the top 10 teams with the highest team batting average made the playoffs in 2025 with Toronto at 265 leading the way. Anaheim Angels, last place, led the league with strikeouts, Rockies, also in last place, was 2nd in strikeouts. That's because averages matter, and strikeouts matter. And once again, I appreciate your input. BUT STOP USING AI. Toronto led the league last year with a 265 team average

@TxRangers
The overall point is that is that BA is not as good of a predictor as the more advanced statistics are.
That is the reason nowadays folks just do not put as much stock in BA as they used to.
