If gambling wasn't involved, NO ONE would swing into a DP on a 2-0 count. These guys are professionals. They know that most pitches swung on are either strikes or outs, hence the <0.500 batting averages. But with a runner on first, I'd be damned if I ever swung at a 2-0 or 3-1 pitch.

.exactly, i am watching it on mlb.com as part of the blue jays network, so many funny comments in this thread about why people arent catching balls.  i havent seen a bad play in the outfield through 7 innings and yet there are numerous comments.  if royals hang on here, itll be by pure luck.  nothing else
