also thorpe if you don't mind me asking who are your wildcards?
AL is easy - Angels and Rays
NL - there could be 7 teams in the mix.
As hard as I have been on the Royals the last few years, I am actually very optimistic this season and think they should win 85 games.....if things break right, they could do a little better.
The KC lineup is solid top to bottom and has the potential to be very good. Francouer figures to regress from last year, he still doesn't walk at all. Gordon, Hosmer, Moustakas, Butler provide a solid middle of the order......Escobar is what he is, a mediocre hitter. Perez is interesting, if he improves offensively he is arguably going to be one of the top catchers in baseball. Leaving Johnny Giavotella...he is a big question mark. But offensively this team should rank highly this season.
Pitching isn't nearly as bad as it is made out to be....it is average, but average ain't bad any more. Sanchez needs to be good, Chen needs to remain serviceable (or slightly better than that), Hochevar, Paulino and Duffy will be pushed by some youngsters. The Royals should have starting pitching options especially if Montgomery, Lamb and Odirizzi step up at all. The bullpen was a strength last year and should be again this season.
Point is that I am optimistic on the Royals, and I don't think it is misplaced optimism. This team is young and these players figure to improve. They have an outside shot to contend for the division this season.......and amazingly, I'm not joking ![]()

1. Say bye-bye to Sizemore. Look I know he plays hard and Grady's Ladies Love him but he has brittle knees
2. Buy Out Hafner. You can't trade him. My idea was buy hafner out give thome a 1 year deal at DH have a "Thome farewell tour". Because Hafner isn't good in my opinion anymore
3. Get rid of Carmona. And i was mocked for saying that. Indians fans saying for 7 million dollars he's a #4 or #5 starter. And I said SO! The Indians can't in my opinion do what they want to do with Sizemore,Hafner and Carmona on the team. And now Carmona ISN"T CARMONA!! Where are those who mocked me? Convinently absent
And I'm sorry once they traded for Lowe that told me they weren't trying to win in 2012. And don't tell me the Braves are paying most of the money. The Lowe and Carmona spots could've gone to a Zach Mccalister,Jeanmar Gomez or David Huff. Now you have DUI Derek Lowe and whoever carmona is now. I have them winning 81 games my self. Again these are my opinions
You're probably right wake with CLE #2 but i'm going with KC. Take Care wake![]()
