Theriot is a weak link, Ozzie Smith is a good shortstop, not Ryan. Just this year alone he has personally ruined UNDER wagers by bouncing throws to first, not getting grounders that he should.

No mention of Alfonso so I guess you think I'm right on that one at least. Aramis is a good player but untested as far as the playoffs goes. If I was a Cubs fan, I wouldn't be celebrating just yet, you guys sound like Dallas Cowboys fans... celebrating regular season victories. Get the Cubs out of the Friendly Confines, and they just aren't that good, face it.

i don't believe in all the jinx crap...but i do believe in choking...it seems no matter the squad they have its like the players who sign with the Cubs realize the pressure and think way too much about it....regular season matters but no one remembers that once you choke big time in the playoffs....they are gonna need a major turn around in a hurry...pinella does kinda remind me of a big old penguin

Why is DeRosa even playing 2nd tonight.  He should be in the outfield.  Regardless, a little leaguer could have made that play.
 
The only thing I can cling on to right now is deluding myself into the thinking the Cubs can go all 04' Red Sox and come back from the brink of elimination but that Boston team actually had talent.

Fukudome shouldnt be in this team, he's licked balls for weeks if not months.
 
Teams choke because they want it to much, therefore the reality of losing weighs too heavily on their minds. Teams who are at ease with the fact that they could very well lose, dont choke - if such teams get beaten, then they are beaten by a truly better team.
 
Chicago wants this way too much.

i feel bad for the cubs.  one of the greatest fan bases in the world, and their playing at home and getting booed.  i would really like to see all this talk about "the curse" die off, but playing the dodgers is not doing them any favors.  cubbies pitching staff looks better for the up coming games, but the dodgers are truely over powering them so far.
