Littell day/night splitS

Day: 3–0, 3.42 ERA
Night: 3–5, 6.38 ERA

Avila June form is bad
An 8.44 ERA in June with 10 earned over 10.2 innings

I’m not 100% locked in yet, but Washington is starting to make some sense today.

Lineups are out, and the Nats have a good amount of left-handed bats in there against Avila. With his command issues and WHIP, that feels like a decent setup for Washington to create traffic and score 

Littell is not the most comfortable pitcher to trust

Washington bullpen

This is probably the biggest full-game concern

The line has already moved

Washington opened cheaper. Now we’re playing into the move. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong, just late 

Sweep spots can be tricky

Washington already won the first two. Sometimes teams going for the sweep are priced a little high because everyone sees the same form. KC is bad, but MLB is still MLB

Kansas City lineup is not dead

They’re missing pieces, but they still have Witt, Caglianone, Perez, Jensen, Massey. That’s enough to punish mistakes if Littell is off

If Avila survives early, the edge drops

Anyone have an opinion haha

Nationals 1st 5 is definitely an option and it solves one of the biggest problems Washington’s bullpen.

But it creates one new one

Can I trust Littell enough for five innings

I’m also looking at the Cubs first five

Littell is 2-0 with a 2.86 ERA against Kansas. 22 innings pitched, 19 hits, 7 ER, 18K, and 1BB

I guess the real question is whether I want to deal with the stress of an early day game, or put a little extra work into the Cubs 1st 5 and make sure every Is perfect

For what it is worth, Washington goes to Tampa for (3) and then back home for (4) very important games against division rival Philadelphia. (7) upcoming games they will probably be underdogs in all of them.

I think Nats first 5 might be the best play on the board minus the juice

I doubt the Cubs get the game in due to weather.
