Go reread every post i wrote in this thread and you will find your answer.

If you added a 3rd team, which there should be, there would still be over 7 million for each team. You are also ignoring that the Yankees draw from New Jersery, CT, upstate NY.... Those millions of people are not counted in the market size.

Brooklyn is the 4th largest city in the country (if not counted as part of NYC) behind NyC, LA, Chicago.

Not to mention they had the Brooklyn Dodges before they moved so there would be a large fan fare for a new baseball team. The die hard Yankee fans would still be Yankee fans but there would be a bunch of Brooklyn fans who emerged and decided to become fans of them instead of the Yankees.

I remember when I use to be a Cards fan, that was way back when they had Chris Carpenter, Jason Marquis, Mark Mulder, Albert Pujolts, Scott Rolen and others.  Anyone would pay to see those guys.

This has nothing to do with anything. They have the most people densely populated in this area of the country. There are people who will fill the seats.

They also have one of the highest income levels in the country.

Why don't you address the previous threads , and not only the threads that you can argue against?



And if you really want t get criticall what bout all the New England States , that the majority are red Sox Fans!!!  So actually if you do the numbers, Boston has a slight edge over any team in Major League baseball!

That is the whole POINT St. Louis gets it!!!!   They don;t trade their ALsstars, they pay them, they build on top of them and bring in guys to support them!  ANNNNNND its a small market but they continually are in the top 5 to10 in Team revenue and Pay a luxuary tax in a small market... This guy JPero doesnt get it

Pittsburgh traded their whole outfield which was arguably one of the best in baseball!!!!   Thast going to get you no where.... They can afford to keep these players and bring in a few more and build around them and all the Sudden you have a powerful Pittsburgh team

Thats in millions.. so the Tampa bay team took in $177 million.. and spent $35 million in payroll. Even if we assume that operating expenses were $100 million dollars (which is preposterous) the owners pocketed $42 million dollars - 33 million of it from revenue sharing.

That fact that you think keep a guy who will only be there for 2-3 years (while under team control until he reaches FA) vs. trading him for 15-25 years of players under team control..... shows you have no knowledge of hte economics of baseball and the only way for mid-small market teams to compete.

The core of the Pirates was not going to be there when Mclouth was going to eb a FA. Signing him to a big deal was NOT going to put them in the playoffs.Nate's contract was going to get to being $10 mil/yr. That would not be smart to have that on their payroll with no chance of competing and hand cuffing them from sighing other players down the road or extending any young players.

Another thing is they needed the money to sign their draftees. Alvarez should be a great player but he is a Boras client and demanded a large signing bonus after being drafted. They also draft a multitued of other players that they MUST sign if they want to create a good farm system.

You haven o idea what they spend on the fronts on player development, scouting, facilites, etc. This is not a clear cut, transparent industry like youa re trying to make it out to be.

You still ignore the media revenue sharing and YES network. Also any Pirates fan will tell you that their outfield right now played wonderful down the stretch and they are under team control for the next 5 years.

You are comparing apples and oranges. The AL and NL is a completely different landscape for the competitive balance. You are nto grasping this fact.

You do not udnerstand the difference. I am not repeating and rehashing every thing I said in this thread. All the answers to your questions are there if you choose to read them. You will not though because you do not want to see the truth.

Anything can happen in a 3 game series. The Playoffs is not parity and i showed that to you in a very detailed, easy to read lay out.

OVER A 162 game season is where you see how the big spending teams with demographic/geographic advantages separate from the other teams. Over a 162 game season the true talent of teams pulls away from the teams that are not as talented.

The playoffs anything can happen. And I have repeated why teams sell off their players but you are too dense to undestand.

15-25 years of players under team control is A LOT LOT more valuable than 3 years of one good player. It is mroe cost efficient and provides more depth and flexibility for future moves if the team progresses and shows they are able to compete.
