notable info for the game from various sources..

SF is 12-2 against the Rockies since acquiring Scutaro.
Tulowitzki is the best hitter vs Cain, career batting .340 (18-53) 4 HR, 6 XBH, .698 SLG
Cargo is career .118 (4-34)
Fowler is career .158 (3-19)
Sandoval v Chacin .412 (7-17) 2 HR, 2 XBH, .500 OBP, .941 SLG, 1 SO
Posey .571 (4-7)
Torres .182 (2-11) 2 2B, 1 SO

The whole SF lineup has only struck on 8 times in 98 PA.

Matt Cain @ Coors is 5-3 (11 games), 4.11 ERA, 65 IP, 53 H, 6 HR, OBA .225, OBP .327

SF has committed 4 errors in the last two games, but still are the 6th ranked NL defensive team with only 25 errors on the year.  SF has won 9 of their last 14, while Colorado has lost 6 of their last 8.

The current 9 game winning streak vs Colorado is the longest in the series history and SF has averaged 7.1 runs while batting .355 during the streak.

The Rockies have lost 24 of 29 against SF and have not won any of the previous 10 series. The Rockies 1-2-3 hitters (Young, Fowler, Gonzalez) went hitless Wednesday and have batted a combined .134 (9-67) vs Cain. 

Since coming back from the DL, Chacin is 0-2 giving up 8 runs, 6 hits on 12 IP.  Colorado has lost his last 5 starts vs SF and Chacin has gone 0-3 5.26 ERA in those starts.
 
Matt Cain is looking to beat the Rockies for the fifth straight time and is 7-1 with 2.79 ERA in his last 10 starts vs Col.

Rockies are the play. SF travels are not to be over looked (Cali to Toronto to Colorado in 3 days). Rox should put the ball in play plenty (#1 in the NL in BA, Runs and HRs)

Neither are San Diegos. They just made a triangle of the country (@TB, @ Balt)....now back home for some nookie last night. Volquez has almost a 1/1 SO/BB %, and I expect the Nats to work the count tonight....

This is why I never make threads early because my leans change frequently..cains been dealing lately..De la rosa has been a stud and he's a bigger dog to bum tomorrow..this line to me is based on perception of rox awful road trip and sf getting back to the win column with superior pitcher

Been thinking about this game for awhile now.  I've been thinking SF since yesterday, but now I'm thinking Colorado..... wait, now I like SF


Feel like I've got a beat on this game, but at the same time I'm having trouble picking a side.

One thing that sticks out to me that Krukow said yesterday in the Giants game is that facing a knuckleballer could throw your game off for a month.  Now he was exaggerating a little, but I think their some truth there.

The line kinda stinks and is whats leaning me towards Colorado.  I just know that SF doesn't fuckkin quit and that Colorado bullpen sucks.  SF got flat out embarrassed yesterday (and Tues. for that matter) with bonehead mishaps on the turf.  I think they'll be glad to see grass and a familiar foe from the division.

OVER is the play. i remember i was fucked up when i took Cain at Coors about 2-3 years ago. he was so good prior to the game, his pitched location & consistency, well, it was just awesome. however, Cain allowed grandslam in 3-4th inning at that time. plus, these two teams' pens will allow some.

My rocking chair has stopped and I'm rolling with the Giants.

Should the Giants come thru tonight, the plan is Rockies tomorrow.

This is the kinda info that will make you fool yourself. Numbers from the past usually bear little fruit in the middle of a baseball season. Too many other variables to rely on "stats and trends"......

I don't think they bear little fruit in the middle of a baseball season.  Regardless of last nights outcome, they should still be considered.  You need to know what you're dealing with, whether you want to take them into consideration or not is all dependable on your capping style.
