Speaking on WEEI earlier this week, former pitcher Curt Schilling said that several players have complained to him about Valentine's behavior.

"I thought that the manager that managed the Mets that I was not a big fan of was now going to be a different manager, and I don't think there's anything different at all," Schilling said. "And I don't think that that is going to be conducive to doing well here. There's a lot of things I think that are happening not just from his perspective, but when you talk to these guys -- and I'm still talking to some of these guys -- I don't think this is going well. And I think it's going bad quicker than I expected it to."

What did I say in my AL East prediction? The problem in Boston runs far deeper and is much more cancerous than Epstein and Francona. Those guys got out of Dodge while the getting was good and Valentine came in with enthusiasm not because he is a great manager but because he needed the job. The Mets had clubhouse problems when he was there, why should this be any different?

The people in here who are saying Schilling is making this up is comical.

The first paragraph says that Cherington and Valentine have a rift and Valentine is falling out of favor very quickly.

After the snippet I copy and pasted it talks about how Francona was good at managing and understanding his players. Valentine is making his players be more available to media and such and the players do not like this.

Do you guys really think Schilling does not talk to Beckett, Youk, Ortiz, and other players on the team? You think he is just doing this for shits and giggles? You think last years problems that came out were just over and done with because the season ended?

The Sox made the worst hire of any MLB club this winter by bringing in Valentine. He is all about the attention and runs things like a circus. That is not what was needed with this ballclub. They needed a Showalter type manager who doesn't play games and earns the respect of his players because of all the time he spends studying film and scouting reports and holding players accountable.

The Red Sox right now are on the brink of exploding. IF Valentine doesn't real the clubhouse in now and smooth things over with the GM this is going to be an ugly season.

Valentine will not last the season.  All this drama could not not happen to a better team, city, etc.  NOTHING better than a failing Red Sox team and fan base pointing fingers.  The almighty Red Sox on the brink of failure.  You had one of the BEST men in baseball manage your team, and now you get Valentine?  it is comical decision making.  Robin Ventura will win more games than Valentine.  I hope this team finishes below Baltimore in the East PLEASE.  And you watch, Valentine will not last the season.

The guy periodically said stupid shit on ESPN as a broadcaster and it carried over in Boston&#x27;s clubhouse as well.&#xD;&#xA;But what did you expect from an egomanical idiot who&#x27;s basically a .500 (.509) coach?&#xD;&#xA;Adrian Gonzalez must be thinking, what the hell did I get myself into here?

Atleast he is moving Bard to the closer role for the time being.

Amazing that he had Aceves in that role when Aceves said he was not comfortable closing and Bobby knew it.

And Bobby V is absolutely responsible for the play of the team so far. If your team does not believe in you and you have have their respect/trust... Well these are grown as men you are managing and they are not going to give you their blood, sweat, and tears on the field if they feel you dont have their back and best interest in mind.

Calling out Youk was a huge NO NO. I think that along with the Patriots day game and then the Yankee game on saturday has caused the team and fans to turn on Bobby.

They gave him a chance and he hasn't been able to get a feel of how to do things. He could turn things around and get the backing of the clubhouse but that might not happen.
