Atlanta and Why

Had a rough start to the playoffs with Phillies last week - licked my wounds and moved on.   Let's look at some numbers:

-114  LA  Yamamoto    -2

         Atl  Sale            -1

Line opened at -114 at sportsmemo.com currently around -110 or so at most places.     Yam.   has a rating of -2 and Sale -1 lower the number typically the better the pitcher on paper.  However, that is very debatable using different metrics -I won't debate that.   Sale has more strikeouts than I.p  great sign of a pitcher at this time of year.      

Went thru my data base and found several dt pts indicating the Home team often takes these situations.  A few side notes - Yam. hasn't pitched in the last 13 days - these layoffs can affect pitchers sometimes - as I find pitchers do like routine.   We have had 5 games so far where the starting pitcher had not seen live action in 10 to 11 days - in those situations 2 games No runs in the first inning and 3 we had runs in the first inning.   

My Plays:

1. Atlanta -110   

2.  Small small  parlay   3.92 to 1     run first inning both play off games   (May hasn't pitched in the last 10 days)

 Back at ya bud .   I find era can be misleading - imho.  I don’t know all his details but he’s been pretty lately - as he just gave up a 2 run homer :( .
