The Angels appear to have a significant advantage at SP, and the Nationals are skidding. Going to give this one a shot for one unit. Not a big fan of backing the Angels, but I like the bat v pitch, bullpen, latest hitting, home/road, etc. For LAA -112, I'm on it.

Very true. And Soroka is one of their better pitchers. His has pitched a lot better than his record/era. He should be good for 6+ strike-outs tonight too. The LAA stike-out at a hight rate vs. righties.

@Sidehatch Would hardly say scoring 15 runs in their last game skidding. If anything Nationals have value been playing hot as of late
6-18 in the month of June. Has not won a series in the month of June. 1-6 against Colorado and Miami. You guys are frickin hilarious if you think Washington has been hot or have ANY value

Yeah, Martinez has been on the hot seat for about three weeks ago. I went to Nats/Dodgers last weekend and wasn’t sure if he would still be the manager. Won four of their last 10, and before that had an 11 game losing streak.
This is their eighth game on this road trip.
As far as Soroka, he gets hit by Scott Kingery (4/8) and Kevin Newman (2/3), and hasn’t really faced the other guys. He is good for 4 runs through the first five innings, and their bullpen is unimpressive.
His ERA in road games is 5.93, which is usually around where the league’s worst starters ERA is.
Hendricks has faced the Nats a good amount, they are hitting .170 against him in 47 ABs.
Factor in that they are playing for Ron Washington, who has the Angels playing at .500 again, only for Wash to go out on disability leave - and they have an inspirational reason to play hard. Wash said on MLB XM last week that hitting the .500 mark was their first goal, now their new goal is to consistently stay above .500.

Significant advantage at SP??? Lmao didn’t even read the rest of what you said after that, figuring the rest of the post was just as stupid..Nationals -1.5 +150 to the bank..All the squares like yourself are on the Angels in this forum.

Well they won, and that unimpressive Wash bullpen versus the aggressive young guys favored Anaheim tonight.
I think the bigger lesson here is I will be looking to FADE WASHINGTON when the numbers make sense. This team is underachieving and we make money by fading teams like this by either picking their opponents, or taking the over. Tonight Was had the 7th inning with bullpen pitchers who had ERAs of:
4.76
8+ 5+
Not gonna get many wins with relievers like that. Tonight I was wrong about the SPs, but the bullpens favored the Angels (which is what the stats said) and that carried the day. Always check bullpen stats and recent bullpen health, it makes quite a difference.
