The Interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in Statistics provides training in statistics, including classical statistics and probability as well as computation and data analysis, to students who wish to integrate these valuable skills into their primary academic program and use them in their business ventures such as trading and sports investing. The program is administered jointly by the departments of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Economics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, and Political Science, and the Statistics and Data Science Center within the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society. Proper money management requires skills and professionalism in statistics and data sciences as well, therefore - from Mr Claude Shannon and thru Mr Jim Simmons and ED Thorp as well as Mr Singleton - everyone who is serious about turning sports betting into a financially profitable venture, must possess two things - a bankroll and the skill set tool box. This is what are doing here and are aiming to do in the future as well. Beat the bank by mathematical approach with sound money management and going strong where we have an edge and slowing down when the bank has better hands. The third choice of being on the side of the house or a bank is the same as the first one. So, we never leave the circle. Going 3-8 on the night and coming out with $822 gains is a manifestation of that approach.

Our immediate target is doubling the initial bankroll of $5K by turning it into $10K, withdrawing half the profits ($2,500) and setting a new bankroll at $7,500 - and subsequently increasing our unit size from current $100 to $150 (2% of the bankroll set initially and reset again after setting a new bankroll). The unit size changes number wise but always stays 2%. Thus, each doubling cycle will result in 50% increase in the unit size but comparably to a new bankroll - it will always stay 2%.

For the first time this season I made a mistake basing my picks on a reason rather than simple math  - instead of going like usual with ML (when the odds are reasonable) and RL -I went only with ML reasoning it with environment change up for all three teams involved: the Yankees playing without a rest first game away from home, the Mets and the Tigers coming home from away series and playing without a rest. But, surprise surprise - all three won not only straight up but also covering the Run Lines easily. Yankees 6-3 in Tampa, the Mets 4-1 in Queens and the Tigers 6-1 in Detroit. So, instead of going 6-0 and profiting at least 3 times what we profited tonight (+$900), I am sitting and complaining after a sweep. Off course not really complaining but lessons to be learnt and trends to be rechecked.
