Although Frankie Edgar was supposed to be the replacement for this fight if either guy were to have to pull out, Ortega does not have to return the favor in giving Edgar a shot at the interim title.

Would be nice to see him back in the cage and not the courtroom an_wink but this would not be the ideal spot...and no way he could make 145. Plus his prefight hype is what sells to non casuals and this would take that away. 

 

Dang Max did look terrible in that interview on FOX. I really hope this isn't from concussions because he may never be the same.

Was Max sparring without head gear late in his training camp?  For a guy who has never been knocked out or even remotely rocked in the Cage in his UFC career this comes as a surprise.  However at least this is not a serious injury...He will take a few weeks off and once cleared the fight can be rescheduled in 1-2 months..

Wow...we almost just lost DC because he can't look where he's going and tripped over a speaker?!?! That would've been insane to lose the Co and the main event both during fight week. I don't think DC is very confident and I'm almost positive Stipe will KO him. 

Dana is also a POS for throwing Ortega under the bus for not taking the Jeremy Stephens fight. It's different when its a title fight and you want him to change opponents the week of?!? Cmon Dana

I sure hope so cause Max is one of my faves and his style is exciting and fun to watch. Its hard to tell what to believe from the media. It could've been a weight cut issue.

Haven't seen much explaining what led to Holloway's concussion like symptoms, but I hope it doesn't cause severe long term effects.

Losing the other title fight on this card would've been terrible, especially if tripping over a speaker caused it. Dana is just mad from a promoter's point of view, even though there is no reason to take a short notice fight when you already have the title shot.

Fighters don't do the hard weight cut until Wednesday Night till Friday morning...By fight week after a long training camp its all water weight + a few lbs... Word is he had to fly out to NY last Wednesday from Hawaii then to Las Vegas after that, which is Brutal especially if he has a mild concussion to begin with. Flying 14+ hours.

Derrick Lewis is not good. He’s a bottom feeder and has struggled with a lot of them. Ngannou has slimmed down to improve his cardio. He will beat Lewis easily. 

Paulo Costa is a beast. I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about him. Think we see him vs Adesanya after he beats Uriah. Winner of that assumes a top 3 spot.

Looks like Ngannou is in the best shape since he entered the UFC, and Lewis is doing anything he can to sell PPV's. 

Costa is an absolute monster, but I would think they give Adesanya and Costa another fight before they match them up against each other and kill one of their hype trains.
