FaceTimed with JJ mid last week. This guy is FOCUSED. He wants his belt back more than anything. Yes, wanting something and actually achieving it is totally different, but just from speaking with him I can't see how doesn't get it done. I don't know man. Dude looked super emotional during the weight ins. Even Bisping commented on it. Looked like he was about to cry out of anger during that face off. Well, 5 Dimes has Jones at -300 and Cormier at +250 with only a few hours before the fight. Doesn't appear that everyone saw how great DC looked at the weigh-ins and ran to bet him. If anything, Jones looked to be in some of the best shape he's ever been in. If you liked Cormier before, I assume you would love him even more at +250. If the last fight was so close and Jones has all of these question marks surrounding him and yada yada yada, how come the line opened on Jones so much higher than their first fight and he's closing around -300? I think it's because everyone knows Jones is that much better than DC and deserves to be that high of a favorite in 2017, despite the well-known potential negatives surrounding Jones coming into this fight. I hope you don't throw anything extra on DC now that he's +250. I understand the attempt at a value perspective, but I feel as if it's a waste of money in this particular circumstance. Jones is going to have his redemption moment tonight on the big stage and Cormier is going to be reminded that he's an old man who struggles to make 205 and should retire to the nice cushy booth job he has waiting for him. Good luck on the rest of your plays tonight but I think you end the night losing 3 units.

The only reason why it's going up is all of the public money and parlays coming in on Jones. We'll see if the sharp money goes to Cormier late. And I absolutely will put more on Cormier soon. He's looked better than I've ever seen him. He will beat Jones.

Jones looks better than I've ever seen him too! lol and it shouldn't take much for Cormier to look better than he's ever been considering never looked that great and has had struggles making 205 up to this point. Again, in this entire thread, you never once talked about actual in-fight adjustments, stylistic advantages, tactics, anything quantitative to actually suggest there will be a different result in their first fight. At least when you were on Shevchenko, you mentioned that it's a 5 round fight instead of 3 and that Shevchenko's cardio would be a huge difference. Not to mention the fact that Shevchenko had constantly improved inside the octagon while Nunes was still the same fighter since their first matchup. THAT at least had a little analysis.
But instead, you're just saying "He will beat Jones." It's all just hoping and wishing that Jones will be a lesser version of his old self and that DC's decline over the past 2 years somehow doesn't cancel that out. I believe Jon is just as focused, if not more so than DC. He hates DC, wants his title back, knows he's better, and wants to shut him and all of his doubters up. He's fighting for his legacy and to get his life back. DC has one foot out the door and the other in a cozy broadcast booth with a wife and kids and a happy life. You're on the wrong side of the motivational factor in my opinion, on top of being on the wrong side of all of the other actual important fighting intangibles. I know I was never going to convince you otherwise, but I at least was hoping you would have provided some better reasoning throughout this thread. Listen man. If you think for one second Cormier is not more motivated than Jones, you are fooling yourself. Cormier is the one that lost the first fight to ruin his perfect MMA record. It is WAY more motivating to come back in the 2nd fight after you lost the first fight. He has been able to prepare for this fight 3 times already since the 1st fight. He has also had a rematch already, unlike Jones, who has never had to rematch anyone, so there is another tactic in DC's favor. We know what DC has to do during the fight if he has to win. I don't know why I need to say it. He has to get past the range and fight at close range and not gas out. That's really the simple version of the fight. He admittedly gassed last fight and I believe that was from his mindset going into the fight and how he approached it. I think his approach will be vastly different, his cardio will be great, and his will will be stronger than Jones. Again, we don't need to analyze this fight anymore. It's been done in here and everywhere else a million times. I think these odds are absurd, but if Jones wins decisively, then I'll be wrong. I'll be fine eating my words. This is a fight, anything can happen. My head and heart tells me DC wins. I've been right with a lot of main events and I hope the streak continues here. Enjoy the fight. The difference is that this is a 3 Unit play for me, nothing insane. And I won't be sweating laying insane juice either. I hope to profit on every card I cap, not just win the main event. Hopefully I'm up over 3 Units going into the main, that I'm freeballing.

Right on, it's all good. Since this is one of the biggest wagers I've ever made, I'm obviously passionate and confident about the wager and have lots of reasons why I think Jones wins and there was value in the line. I just felt like you're having to "hope" for a LOT of things to be different this time around and all of those things have to fall in DC's favor in order for him to win the fight. I just don't see all of those things happening or enough of them happening to result in him coming away with a W. I don't consider this a normal main event, so of course this is a hot topic where everyone seems to have a strong opinion. Hopefully you have a good rest of the card so that Jones can win and we can both walk away with profit on the night lol. Good luck on the rest of your plays. Can't wait for this event. Cyborg in round 2 seems like a very legitimate bet imo. Just the raw toughness in her opponent accompanied by the fact that Cyborg is working on making better decisions from what I read, makes me think that round 2 and even 3 are extremely possible even though most think it will be over quickly.
I think there's a lot of value in backing Lamas as well. The step up in competition is real and Lamas doesn't make many mistake. His losses being to those of the elite in the division give me enough optimism that he is the better fighter.
Other Dogs- Cerrone, Ortega, and Shelton are all live imo
