    FNM deal....

Government will buy 80% position in common and manage the company
They expect FNM to start repaying them in late 2010

In the near term I would expect them to drive the stock down so they can buy it as cheap as they can ...

Hold it down to frustrate any traders that buy it today
I would guess that yoy should start buying it at around 30 cents maybe 3 to 6 months out

Then build a trading position and sell on any good news it has \The rallies should be sharp and last only a few days.

That is what I think you are looking at here.

Someone bought over 10,000 OCT $32 calls on LEH today.

Could be interesting, could be someone just trying to play the lottery.  But the $32 price target just seems odd to me.

I cant understand why the price of oil keeps dropping. The government bailed out 5.3 trillion dollar company that has huge loses, soo much so to the point of failing. so the dollar you'd think would lose some value.  it doesnt it actually has gained today. Hurricane ike looks like its on a direct path for the gulf. opec meets tomorrow and they cant be happy with the fall in oil prices.  it seems that for the last 4 days oil prices have done the same thing. raise through the night over seas, raise in the early morning. then @ 9:30- 10:30 it gets slammed down in the usa. Everytime i read headlines it seems they are all trying to spin every bit of news towards lowering oil. examples : today Hurricane Ike down graded to catergory 2, ( its on top of cuba's land when it hits the sea it will gain back strength !! ) opec meeting : all reports say they wont change out-put. (they will atleast try to trim over- output which is 1/30th of supply.)

It seems to me that theres powers trying their damnedest to get this market to rally. I just dont understand this oil drop. I bought Dig @ 75ish and expected oil to rally today and jump tomorrow. early morning up to almost 110 and same thing again today crashing down @ 9:30.

Is there something i dont know lol

Its an $80,000 gamble, betting that LEH will more than double from where it is in under a month.  They could unload them in the next 6+ weeks, but there is almost zero interest in buying a call that far out of the money in a stock that is presumed to be dead.

JAX I'm passing on oil here keep expecting rally. I took my shots on that rally and was stopped out. I'm passing on oil for now. The short term market is beating me right now so I will stop trading and am concentrating on positions.

Rails NSC UNP CSX look like charts of FCX DE CAT but are behind them . I am betting that the rails are going to look like DE CAT and FCX which gives them pretty good downside in the relatively near term

I am starting to get bullish on GOLD after recent events but will not buy it. I am thinking I can get it at 730 or so

Stocks esentially trade in a predetermine pattern. Reality or reasons for something to go up or down will work out in the long run but in the short term you have to respect the pattern. That pattern will frustrate most traders because it often makes no sense. This pattern is universal and common to all groups industries including commoities. It helps them manage the flow of funds and in turn the economy. What you see day to day is not a random walk it is part of a predetermined process. If you can step back away from it....stop trying to figure out what it is going to do today you will see it better. The insiders are trying to suck you into trading and if they can they will beat you . Trading is fun ...it is fun to paly that day to day game so I ...an action junkie do it. But I have two accounts A long term one with 90% of my capital and a trading one 10% of capital. Trustt me the long term one is very suucessful the short term one is not.
I will try to help you play the short term market because it is fun. The best way to play the game is from the long term

Notice that the long bonds are rallying and the 30 year rates are dropping like a rock  Long term rates mortgage rates are going at least to 5 to 5.25 maybe lower

Buying LEH at 10 also the sept 7.50 puts at 1.33 and selling Oct 15 calls at 1.33. This is just a smart ass guess
