There's a legend I learned about when I first started playing the ponies & I've played it every time I've seen it pop up on a racing card. It's real simple....
In the last race of any card, play any horse racing for trainer David Donk. WPS is the most common wager I make but based on my wad, I may play exacta/DD wheels. There's absolutely no capping involved; just play the legend. Today was one of those days.
Donk had #8 Bielefeld with Manny Franco riding. Too make a long story short, he ran 2nd by a head @ 27-1 when Lezcano got the head bob on #3 @ 12-1. I missed a large exacta but it still paid $21.40/$15.40.
The legend continues tomorrow as Donk has # 10 Disciplinarian ML 4-1 & an MTO in #14. I'm not a big fan of the jock, Luis Cardenas, on #10 but that doesn't come into play because it doesn't matter if I rode the horse....the play is just made.
I learned of this legend leaving Aqueduct one cold winter day when I heard all these car horns being blasted in the parking lot after Donk won the last race.
The legend lived on today and will tomorrow.
