I have a few for this list...
You cannot be considered a serious gambler if you...
1. Only use offshore internet books...
Serious gamblers play will often higher stakes then the limits that are allowed, so most will have a mix of other types of books including a vegas connection...
2. Use Covers.com and other sites to gamble...
Most of the people here are novices and newbies... A small percentage of the people here are good cappers and even then people who tail them are looking for their "play of the day"... I think it takes about a year or more minimum to be able to learn how to filter through all of the crap on this site...
Like amateur gambling Covers.com should be for entertainment purposes only... And I find it highly entertaining, so much so that I would be on this site even if I was not betting because of all the follow degenerates and personalities here...
3. Gamble on credit
So people that take out loans, use credit cards and are in the business of trying to beat the interest along with the juice/vig... This sounds so stupid but you know that there are people on here who do that and you know who you are...
4. Chase
This is actually one of the diagnositic criteria for pathological gambling... These are the players that put up the threads on needing a winner to make up for a bad weekend or losing a big play... If you are betting base on trying to make up for what happened in the past...
5. If you play slots, video line games, or video poker...
This is the most addictive type of gambling in terms of it getting out of control for the novice gambler... but there are people out there that this is their "bread and butter" for gambling...
6. If you think that sports gambling has the best odds...
I believe Black Jack has the best odds if you play situationally in a perfect manner, even better if you card count... Degenerates are not patient enough to implement a system that works and will abandon the system due to boredom and need for excitement, so it takes a special person to pull it off (not your average Joe... the plummer)
I believe that the Roulette house advantage on a double zero wheel is 5.26%... so what is the house advantage of your -110 bets that you put down playing single bets against the spread?
Think about it... I always laugh at people that mock teasers and parlays but then they put down 10% house advantage on their single bets as if some how in the gambling world they are playing smarter... They might be better off just betting Red or Black and spinning the wheel...
