I agree with KingRGIII because I didn't know any of those characters and until he just mentioned them, I didn't know their names. But I'm fine with that because I'm just a fan of the movies and I never read the comics either.

I thought the other ones were snoozefests. Was on my phone for all of them. This one I was fully engaged.

I actually really enjoyed the others. But I also watched them all within a week leading up to the movie because I have never seen them before so I was excited watching them all together.

Was a decent flick, but 9.5/10 is a bit much. 7/10 in my book. 9.5 is shawshank redemption territory.

The reason you liked them is that they crescendoed as you watched them back to back. They each go successively better (except the last one which was widely panned).

Otherwise, on their own, I found them to be lacking...until this one.

@train - my ratings for movies in the theater have changed.

My standards are much lower with the rise of the web and pay channel/netflix scripted series (anyone would say One GOT episode is better than most movies).

Therefore, if I leave the theater happy and entertained (VERY rare for many of us in 2014, I will put it closer to a 10 than I ever would have).

Shawshank is one of the greatest of all time and really can't be captured by a rating.

There was an article in the New York Times about it last week.

The warden, who was interviewed, STILL get 'substantial' residuals from this movie and said his daughter will likely get them all too for the rest of her life. Now THAT is a movie...
