Would you call me a racist if I started a "WHITE" college? Like Grambling is a "BLACK" college

White entertainment television - FOX, CBS, NBC, etc.  What do you think Friends, Seinfield, and Two and a Half Men are?

I don't see what the big problem is about being a racist, it's just a word. I'm half Spanish, half white, and could care less if someone calls me names. It's just words, get over it

Harvard and Princeton are "white colleges"....did someone really say that? Just because minorities test scores are too low to get in doesnt make it a "white college" as Grambling is a black college. Where do these bums come from. Harvard is a white college

i look at everything by levels,and percents.there are different levels and percents in any situation. different levels of racism,different levels of  anything! i tell people im a low level alcoholic.although i dont wake up in the morning and hit the bottle,nor do i drink by myself.i still know i have an alcohol problem.i dont drink during the weekday,nor do i have the urge to.but as soon as friday night hit,im the biggest lush you ever seen.my weekends are usually filled with wild social gatherings,and parties.i drink excessively throughout the weekend.my point is this,when i first read the first 2-3 lines of your thread.i thought,no i dont think your racist,but after reading the entire thread i thought,wait a minute,there might be a low level racist right here.lol!.i feel anybody that is so addament about a racial topic has to be at the very least a low level racist.anybody that is too pro-black,or too pro-white is a racist.might be a low- level,mid-level,or code red high- level alert racist! lets be honest people!. the world in my eyes is like this 25%low-lev,40%mid- lev,25% hi-lev. the other 10% is like me,really dont give a shitt about race.i honestly think that im the most impartial person around,when it comes to the race card.anybody that is so addement on starting something that is solely designed to cater to a certain group of peolple,has to be somewhat racist.although people like malcom x,members from the black panther movement,(etc).did alot of good for the black communnittes,and for black evolution.as far as far as fighting for equal rights,raising awareness,etc.but lets face it,they were all racist too.so yes i think,at the very least your a low-lev racist.but its all good! i have low-lev blk and wht friends.its the mid-hi lev,and the people that dont give someone a chance,or are quick to judge just because of some ones race that i have a problem with! now me i would start a multi-diverse college.every race,equally populated!the school would be huge,people from different walks of life,really getting along,and having genuine love and respect for eachother.let each one teach one! and who knows,that 10% can keep growing and growing.the schools only requirments would be an egarness to learn,an open and receptive mind about race,and a willingness to get exstremley fuucckked up with me on the weekend!

It is interesting how heated people get when discussing race issues on the internet. Many of the comments in this thread would never be made if we were all sitting in a conference room face to face. While there would still be conflicting opinions on this topic, as there should be, people would be less inclined to be offensive when stating their views. 

there is no victor,just people stating there opinion.some opinions come off negative,while others positive.this thread isnt about someone being the winner.thats what we post our plays for!

since there is a united negro college fund, is it politically correct to call african-americans "negros"? 

i also love how in my city all of the minority (mostly african-american) companies are complaining (and suing) the city because the city doesn't contract any business to minorities (even though a hispanic company gets probably 90 percent of all construction business). 

there is trash of all colors, white, black, hispanic, asian, it only seems that the "negros" are always the ones that bitch the most about it

oh, and i'm "1/2white1/2mexican"

oh, and not just "mostly african-american", it actually is an african-american "group" suing the city 

Just to throw in my two cents without reading any of the other posts. 
#1 Yes, if you are starting the college simply because there is(or want to oppose) a "black" college, then yes it is racists.  Remember these colleges were started because black people or colored people (including Asians, Native Americans, etc.) were not allowed to attend a "regular" college.  Over the years this of course has changed as well as the term "black" college to "Historically black" college, since all institutions allow anyone to enroll for years now.  People still hold the perception that white people, or anybody but black people can attend these colleges because in fact they really don't care, they would just like to point out the "reverse racism" without knowing facts.

#2 The NAACP & UNCF existed out of nessecity.  Yes the number of opportunities has pretty much evened out over the years but these opps weren't always equal.  These organizations may be outdated and should probably dissolve and become new organizations for all underprivileged, the NAACP covers all minorities. 

#3  I do hate when ass-clowns like Al Sharpton use any national issue to speak on behalf of all black people.  Sharpton is a camera seeking publicity person with bad hair.  Why did I see this guy every time someone was talking to the Jackson family when Michael Jackson died.  When the hell did this guy hang out with Mike?

#4 BET hasn't entertained black people since 2001...

#5 I do remember a few years back some organization developed a scholarship for white students.  I thought it made a good point that if you're going to have scholarships specifically for Hispanics, African-Americans, & Native - Americans, why not Caucasians too.  And they did it to point out that this is ridiculous and all scholarships should go to the best student period.  Universities started doing this to show they were pro-active in getting everyone an education, but these days I think it's a slap in the face and the question is when did we cross that line?  15 years ago, I would've been all for it because I didn't see any white people in as bad a situation or struggling as much as anybody I knew, but these days I see plenty almost worst off than we ever were.  My mom worked her ass off for us, now I work my ass off for me, but everyone deserves help every so often.

To sum this up, if you want to start a "white" college out of spite, then yes it is racist.  But I'll bet they'll have the best meth...
