She was actually given another song but took this one because it didn't have a lot of "bad stuff that a lot of other songs are about".
And in regards to the other song she was given, she says "It was about being a guy's superhero and all that...but I'm 13...so...".
And she ended up doing Friday because it was about having fun with your friends and being a teenager.
I’d venture a guess and say the vast majority of those hits are 4chan members who keep posting negative comments.
You believe people think that this girl is a “serious singer”? 
She is nothing more than a flavor of the month novelty act.
If she does make any substantial money, I hope she (and her parents) invests it wisely.
Oh, and William Hung DID have a top 40 album. Also, just like her, he appeared on Jay Leno less than two months after “she bangs” went viral.
Three things....
1. Sure the song sucks. But teenagers are morons and I bet some like it.
3. Controversy creates cash right....the song is so bad that it has been talked about all over the internet and on multiple radio stations too. Any Plublicity is good plublicity...
