That is the exact opposite of what faith requires. As a matter of fact, it is the antithesis of a faith-based believer. You believe you have been given 'proof' thereby certifying your belief. That is not faith.

Seen the Bottom of what this world has to offer ....

Hitchens doesn't say it does...but in order to claim that something is the word of God, any God, there has to be evidence...there isn't..

Why does God permit so much suffering in the world?  The innocents, the cruelty to animals, the hatred and prejudice, the slaughter, the torture, the bigotry, the racism?  I am sure God exists or a supreme power exists but there is so much I do not understand.
