Why do some people have good or bad luck?

Mathematics can break down luck.

Luck is in part but being on the right side of the equation is what happens. Winner of course has no idea.

Beverly Eckert died in a plane crash in 2009.  Who is Beverly Eckert?

She was the wife of Sean Rooney, who died on 9/11 inside the World Trade Center.

If that isn't extreme bad luck, I don't know what is.  The odds of the couple dying in this manner is the same as winning the lottery.  It looked like something out of a movie, but it was a real life tragic event.

I guess there is no explaination for good or bad luck. We just have to accept that certain things are unexplainable.

Luck is a philosophical term used to describe a low probability event going in your favour (good luck) or a low probability event going against your favour (bad luck).

Some people think luck doesn't exist, they cite hard work, skill, research etc as reasons. However, luck certainly exists.

What are the chances I hit a full court shot? 1 in 1000,2000, 5000, 10000? Whatever it is , if I hit the shot, a very small probability event went in my favour, therefore, we call it luck.

What are the chances of me winning the lotto? 1 in 40 mill? If I won it, then this extremely low probability event went in my favour, therefore we call it luck.

Certainly there are some things which can affect your odds, but all on all, luck certainly does it. The lotto is proof of this. No matter what you do, no mater how many much research you do or study for the lotto, it doesn't matter, lotto is proof luck exists.

Why do some people have it more than others? No one knows. It is what it is.......

The odds of certain things happening are extremely rare. Unfortunately, rare things do happen and I guess we just use the term "luck" or "bad luck" to describe them.

Yeah, but who or what determines if a person is on the right side of the equation? or on the wrong side of the equation?

Yeah, luck is somewhat random. Again, how come some people have bad luck and some people have good luck? Who chose them to have bad or good luck? The people that have bad luck, are they cursed? If so, why or how are they cursed?

Yeah, I read a story about this. The emergency responder accidentally ran her over, but it was in broad daylight, so how could they not see her?  She survived the crash, which is good luck in a weird way, but then she had extremely bad luck by getting run over. 

Winning the lottery is purely 100 percent luck.

Winning a 10 team parlay is 50 percent luck and 50 percent knowledge and skill.

You know the old saying "sh*t happens"  well, there is no explanation when you have good or bad luck because sh*t happens.
