A lot less traffic too. It wasn’t that long ago when every thread on the 1st page of the GD had a most recent post less than 12 hours old.

I'll be 67 tomorrow and I'm in pretty good shape, but when my time comes I don't want to be a burden on anyone. I hope the Big Guy takes me quick.
BTW, Gettin Old Sucks.(but it beats the alternative)

The "right" to die is an issue that needs more attention on the big stage. Since Jack Kevorkian's case it of course has been forgotten.
The amount of money spent on lost causes is immense. We have tons of elderly people who have been forgotten and left in nursing homes to die.
Long term care is not covered under medicare meaning you and your family are left with a large possible long term expense. Most facilities run $50,000 or more a year. Meaning its a convenient way for wealth to be reclaimed.
I for one am 100% behind some sort of right to death. If I decide its time... that means it's time. The last thing I would want is to rot away in a nursing or assisted living facility. Also you should be able to appoint a death representative...so if you became sick or disabled quickly you could have a loved one who could enforce your wishes.
I donate time to local nursing homes ... its a very sobering place and experience. If you want to feel your own mortality quick...look no further than a nursing home.
