had the over in that met game when robin ventura hit the grand slam homer that only counted for a single and none of the runs scored except for the one winning run.

My roomate was telling me a story about a couple of years ago. He unloaded on UConn -3 vs. Duke. Uconn hits the free throws with 1.5 seconds to go up 5. He is watching with his local who says, "looks like I owe you a grand." Next thing you know Chris Duhon hits a Brett Farve football toss the length of the court and nets it at the buzzer to lose by 2. To this day if Duhon is playing he will cuss for 5 minutes then won't bet anything involving him. 

What was the CFB game a few years back where the team kicks a FG with 2 seconds left. The kicker takes off his helmet and gets a 15 yd penalty on the kickoff. They squib the kick and on the return time expires and the kicking team hits the return man out of bounds and gets another 15 yd penalty and 1 untimed play. Team lines up and kicks a FG with no time left to win?

I think it was mentioned in a previous thread but wasn't it Georgetown or someone dribbling out the clock near midcourt winning by a few but not enough to cover.  Dude blindly chucks the ball up in celebration as time expires and it goes in for the cover.  Anyone have the youtube link to that?  Thanks

mavs/rockets last year--scored 18pts in final 80secs or so to f my under--stupid

Posted this last time a topic came up on bad beats. Some rough stories here but still believes nothing beats (or probably will ever beat) this one...

In the ULEB Cup basketball in the 07-08 season I backed Bosna +12 v Alba Berlin.

End of Normal Time 71-71

End of 1st Overtime 82-82

End of 2nd Overtime 97-97

End of 3rd Overtime 111-111

End of 4th Overtime 122-122

End of 5th Overtime 141-127

Still yet to find one worse 4 years on.

in a local basketball league

i had team A - 5.5 pts..

team A had a 25pt lead with 9mins remaining in the 4th quarter.. 78 53...

team B goes on a 31-11 run to end the game.

whats sad about is that team A had a 9 pt lead with 22 secs remaining. team B scores a layup and wasnt even really pressuring much and looks like they were content with letting team A dribble the clock but a stupid player thinking that they were being pressured ( even though the nearest defender on him was about 5 feet away )decides to throw an outlet pass which goes nowhere. team B steals the ball and proceeds to hit a 3. the stupid fucker who threw the ball is then foul and misses 1 of 2 fts wow

also  the end of the 3rd score was 71 49 and the team who never eclipsed 20 in the 1st 3 quarters scores 35 in the 4th lol hahahahah

Bears game this year where Hester deeks the whole team and Johnny Knox takes it in for the punt return cover..... but wait, the fix is in and as soon as the ref sees knox all by himself throws the flag.

No offense, but that seems like it would have been a lucky back door cover. If that's the worst beat you ever have had consider yourself lucky.

Seattle Mariners bet several years ago on the ML when Seattle was ahead by 11 runs in the 8th inning and then lost!

Not sure of all time off the top of my head, but I definitely can name my worst beat of this year.

Syracuse-Toledo. Toledo +2. Cuse misses an extra point to make the score 29-27, refs call it good when it CLEARLY wasn't even close. They review it and somehow don't fix it. Toledo kicks what would've been a game winning fg 30-29, instead it goes to overtime 30-30, Toledo promptly gets picked and loses by 3.

I've had my fair share of both good and bad beats like everyone else, but one bad beat really comes to mind above all others.

Last year's World Series Game 2, CJ Wilson vs Matt Cain, I was on Under 7. Quick pitcher's duel, very few baserunners all night, no big trouble for either pitcher most of the way through. Bottom of the 8th inning, 2 outs, bases empty, San Francisco up 2-0. Holland walks the bases loaded, Cocaine Ron refuses to take him out until he keeps the merry go round going a while longer, and when he does take him out the arms that replace Holland give up even more runs. Don't remember the final, must've been something along the lines of 8-1. I just remember staring at my TV in complete and utter disbelief as it all unfolded. San Fran ended up scoring 6 or 7 runs in that inning with 2 outs and bases empty, epic epic bad beat.

I believe it was 76/77 or 77/78 season. I was 10 or 11 and had my $6 3 team parlay in with the corner bookie both teams had won and the Knicks were -6.5 vs Golden State up 10 with 6 seconds left after a knick free throw and they let the GS guard go the length of the court for a lay up but I'm good up 8 with 2 seconds left right, well the ball gets inbound to Clyde the Glide who promptly turns to his own basket and makes a lay up and the clock expires. Knicks win by 6.  I have often thought about the prospect of fixes in the NBA.

I was on Toledo +2 as well as Utah +8 vs. USC.

Rough season for College Football this year with officials botching calls and Conference front offices getting involved in final scores.

Too late, my money was gone.  Instead of being EVEN on the week, I had lost $500.  I laugh about it now, but thirty years ago, a $500 swing was HUGE.

And that, my degenerate friends, was TheGolgenGoose's worst Sports Bad Beat of All Time.




That one would be hard to forget.
