Why would I try to do your job for a week when I have skills and value to an employer that pays real money?
I think everyone in society who works, unlike many of you sponging off your parents and grandmama, should work in the service industry at least a year in their life. I have a college degree, but I work as a dealer at the hard rock. I have been in the casino business for 11 years. I also have been a pizza delivery driver, and a courier for fed x. I know casino gambling is hard to beat, but dealing is not an easy or glamorous JOB. Standing on your feet on a hard surface for hours, dealing with begging drunk assholes, and inhaling cigar and cigarette smoke nonstop is some of the negatives of the business . I don't think we are entitled to tips, but those of us that are damn good at our craft definitely deserve being compensated. I know it is hard to win, but we are paid to entertain the clientele while they are gambling their hard earned ( or stolen, or drug) money. If you are winning, you should compensate us for our service. I don't expect you to tip generously when you are losing, but throw me a bone every once in a while , even it is a dollar or two , to show some kind of appreciation. I think that it sucks that ALL service industry companies pay their employees a shitty wage, with most of them, including myself, being paid below minimum wage.
