Serious advice needed

For 2 months I have been living at my friends house who is married, paying rent. I sold my car to keep gambling, I won a bunch of money and gave most of it back, leaving me broke again. My Dad sent me some money, some of i which I owed my friend, so I payed him.

All joking aside, I have way too much experience with needing to win desperate situations. It sure makes for a hell of a day when you have your livelyhood on a game

 

I would say if I was guessing that in your tough position your in or any desperate situation, gambling will pay off at best 3 out of 10 attempts. And those 7 other times will suck worse than anything else that has ever sucked

 

I still battle with making bad risky situations but I would say do the best you can do with that $900 and not bank on gambling. But truth is sometimes I cant even follow that advice.

If this is serious than do not even think about betting.  run as fast as you can.

why can't you tell your family? Maybe they can help you out by letting you move back in until you can get yourself straightened out. My best advice would be that you should be honest with your family. Start going to GA meetings and work on getting a job. Shits not worth the stress and you will probably lose and end up in a shelter wishing you had that 900 still anyway. Good luck

i'm not sure what the "obvious reasons" are for not being able to talk to family and friends, but your dad seems willing to help you out.
there's one game left on the board, and that's LIFE, and you have one play left, and that's YOU, my advice would be to GO ALL IN!!, bet on you!
now i'll place my bet, i'm betting if your situation gets to the point when you hit rock bottom, and you find yourself broke and homeless, your friends and family that for whatever reason you feel you can't turn to, will say, WHY DIDN'T YOU COME TO US?

1. Quit gambling right now because you're not in a position where you can afford to gamble...you don't have the money to support it. Gambling is for people who have a bankroll who can afford to take setbacks.

2. See if you can move in with your Dad until you get back on your feet again. You tell him it's just temporary.

3. Go find a job, even if for now it's minimum wage.

You know what you have to do and it wont be easy.good luck brother, nothing good comes easy.

A friend of mines was in a similar situation, had nice cars big house lost almost everything in 2007 betting sports. Family didnt know he gambled kept it all a secret. Eventually he had no choice went to his family, sister gave him a place to stay, Right now he still living with his sister and works at a cell phone store and a cafe. Obviously he's not as rich as he use to be but things are better.

can you really not get a minimum wage job?  at mcdonalds?  or cutting grass for a landscaper?  nothing?

Is it possible for anyone in this country to spend a week looking for a minimum wage job and NOT find one?

hell, work two of them.  cut grass from 6am to 2pm and wash dishes from 6pm to 1am and then do it all over.  don't take the easy way out, get a fucking job or jobs and put in your time.  sounds like you haven't worked a day in your life.  time to fucking man up.  get to work.  and get to work double-time.  you can see what being a freeloading unemployed gambler has done for you.  MAN THE FUCK UP

Gunners is correct you do need to get a job and you will still be able to gamble and you will feel a lot better also. 

the economy is getting somewhat better so even if it's a low wage job .. find one no find 2 and man up..

I went to subway for lunch today.  I had to deal with 3 utter imbociles to get the correct order in and pay for it.  I COULD NOT EVEN IMAGINE anyone being less qualified than these 3 idiots. 

Therefore, if you're unemployed, I have no fucking sympathy for you.  Because I just saw the 3 most worthless human beings on the planet making more money in a day than you will have to your name once you lose your next bet. 

I have been working 2 jobs for over 2 years now since I quit gambling. It can be done. It's a matter of self-discipline.
