President Obama just stated in his press conference (still going on) that he had his whole team meeting in the White House on this problem the very first day. Another lie, I'm convinced. (Except, of course, the Secretary of the Interior who was on vacation and couldn't be bothered.) Why was his spokesman dismissive about the oil leak the next day? Was that on his own or was it representative of the thoughts of the leader of the country?

By the way, these sycophantic reporters are asking President Obama some sharp questions for a change.

He said "When I go to bed at night....and when I get up in the morning..." What happened to all his promises to "not rest"? We knew it was impossible to "not rest", I wish he would quit promising this. Sounds good, I suppose. Appearances are everything.

CLAIMS THE TOP SHOT BP IS DOING IS A LONG SHOT
AND WILL MOST LIKELY NOT WORK!
SAYS THE ONLY REAL THING THAT WILL WORK IS DRILLING
RIGHT NEAR THE BROKEN WELL TO RELIEVE OIL IN NEW NEARBY DRILLING WELL. THEY ARE DOING IT ACTUALLY NOW BUT THAT WILL TAKE MONTHS SUPPOSEDLY.
ALSO, DEEP OIL WELLS HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR 10 YEARS ONLY AND PRODUCE 80% OF GULF OIL.

What is with these terrible 'solutions'?

The first was basically a cap, and putting it on was like a big version of that little game they used to have at taco bell where you drop your change through bubbles onto landing pads.

The nest was using hair and fucking golf balls to fill the hole. HAIR and GOLF BALLS. Why golf balls? if the idea is that since they are spheres they will push against eachother and hold themselves in place why not use something 10 times larger than golf balls to do the same thing?

The new solution won't work either - cover the hole with mud, and mix in some concrete. Lets just cover the hole with some dirt!! I wish they could somehow get a video feed of them trying to fill a gushing oil leak with liquid concrete.

The leaking oil is apparently also getting thicker as time goes by.

Here's my spontaneous idea...

if we can get things down into where the oil is leaking from, why can't we put something in there that can expand/inflate to block the hole? If it was some kind of very strong but flexible material I don't see why that wouldn't work better than hair, golf balls, and mud.

They are drilling relief wells, Obama mentioned the FEDs required two when BP only wanted one, but that can take months.

Problem is Gulf will be one big oil slick by that time if they can't contain before then! Then part of my atlantic ocean will also be fucked up. OH DEAR GOD?!?!?!

Ok boys I'll explain this one more time under the pollution control act the polluter has 1 month to cure the problem and show that they are making satisfactory progress toward clean up. After 1 month the government can take over the command structure of the cleanup. Up till know the command group had 6 votes total on everything that has been done up to date. It is a pyramid structure BP on top 2 votes,Haliburtin1 vote,Transocean 1 vote,US Coast Gaurd 1 vote,Goverment 2 agencies 1 vote each.

Up till know if BP and their cohorts wanted to pump shit into the water they had the majority of votes to do it. This all changes after June 2nd.

Unless Obama had filed to take over under grounds that it was a national emergency then the government could have taken over all command decisions at that time. He did not and has not and as far as equipment goes more is available from private sources than the government has anyway but Obama should have been much more assertive early and he has been trying to please both sides with his two faced bullshit about concern and effort.Yesterday he claimed he was not aware one of his top people had been fired.WTF

Old buzzard picken was right. 50 years in the oil industry, he knows what he's saying. He snickered and said top kill would not work days ago. What he said will work is what they are doing now => drilling seperate relief well to take oil and pressure from broken well, then cap broken well. PROBLEM IS WILL TAKE NEARLY 90 DAYS; OMFG!! Feel very sorry for captain buddy from Venice LA. No more yellowfin tuna! No bill fishing going on in most of gulf period from what I hear. This shit will now surely affect my fish take as well; I just thank god I don't make a living on it like some around me! I'm sad, I'm depressed, and I'm pissed!

His stories aren't so fuckin cute anymore.

These oil rich bastards will still figure out a way to make a profit at the end of the year.

he's to busy interviewing on NBA on TNT, and congratulating sports teams

at least hes going back home to his cronies in Chicago on Memorial Day weekend instead of working on oil spill or addressing our troops

Obama has done a poor job, but that "revalation" (aka a bad trip someone had thousands of years ago that they wrote about) suggests that Obama caused the problem. He sounded his trumpet and all hell broke loose. "Something like a huge mountain, all ablaze" .... how the FUCK is that oil?

I haven't seen any blood either... pretty sure its all oil. I don't think anyone has even flipped their canoe in the oil either, let alone 'a third of the ships'

Obama has more pressing issues than BP. For one, he is trying to encourage LeBron to play for the Bulls. At least he likes doing photo-ops instead of focusing on his job as leader of the free world. I am glad I voted for change and his empty promises. I don't know why we have to wait four years to vote for another inept President. He has already proven he is unqualified and overwhelmed by the job.

Theyre saying that if they could nuke that hole in the ocean floor, it would seal off that leak, but the problem with that is, THEN POOR BP WOULDNT BE ABLE TO GET THE OIL OUT OF IT OR ANY OF THE RESERVES AROUND IT. BP STILL DESERVES THAT OIL, THEY GONNA GET IT.

I also heard a guy ranting about........If BP kills all the wildlife and environments in the Gulf .......... then in the next few years they can all drill in the Gulf without having to get around environmental laws, YAY BP!!!! killing off our earth .... SO THEY CAN MAKE MORE MONEY.

I just wanna know why fuckin Barrack Hussein doesnt feel this is a HUGE issue , and doesnt either fix it or address it every day,
