    1. Do you split 6s into a 2? Dealer said I was supposed to. Took the dealer's advice, I got a double, and then lost every hand within that hand. Was that the right play?

    2. What is your system for betting blackjack?

    Thanks.

    1. 6's against a 2 is a hit

    2. There should only be one "system" for betting blackjack, the right one

You split 6s 2-6 (dealer up card)

    Blackjack is...............wait for it.....................GAMBLING

    So, what should you do?

    Practice MONEY MANAGEMENT

Also, you need to Optimum Basic Strategy down COLD. There are software programs out there that can help you. You don't have to be an MIT grad to do this, but you will have to learn to count cards.

Do NOT play single deck if the payout is 6-5. I play double deck because at least then, they deal out a full deck of cards.

You can't name/endorse sfuff here, but if you got a copy of Casino Player magazine, it wouldn't hurt

The cards people really need to learn how to play are 99, you split against everything but a 7 10 or A,  I see so many people fuck this up

    Pair splitting is important

Soft hands (with an Ace) are important

Doubling down with an 11, 10, a 9, or (rarely) an 8 is important

    You have to PRACTICE!

Unless you're counting, just play basic strategy. Bring a card with you if you need.  As for betting amounts, I like to play a progression whereby I increase the bet amount when I win and drop back down to base when I lose.  For example, I might start at 50 and increase by 25 after every win and drop down to 50 hen I lose.  This kind of thing really takes advantage of streaks.  It's worked well for me.

hawk i agree people can play however they want.. its their money...

you just gave him advice to play basic strategy(which i agree) and that is far from basic strategy dealers 2s and 3s are very dangerous.

Double down on your 12 vs Dealer 12/13 and they announce it to the pit boss (At least in AC last few times that scenario came up)Like you are counting..So that tells you the house knows you are not playing that hand the way they want you to play it.

I like to do it if I'm up and so sweet when the 8 or 9 comes up.If I am just even I'll simply hit it..

To NFL Capper-Avoid the 6/5 BJ payout tables with the dealers showing Tits and Ass..find a regular table with a 3/2 BJ payout and keep the house edge as low as possible.Would you rather get paid $12 at a $10 table min bet or $15? Take those singles to the strip club..

Wrong the correct play is to split 6s when dealer is showing 2-6.

4s you only split vs. a dealer 5 or 6

I get so much shit from people when I split my 9s (except vs 7,10, A) and I just tell them its the right play.

Also get tons of shit when I hit my 12s vs dealer 2s and 3s. I am consistent and always do it and it technically is the correct play. Only time I dont hit is when the deck is +2 or better.

Fuck all the other people at the table & there comments. If you're playing correct basic strategy & they're not-that's there problem not yours. You don't ever have to justify to anyone how you've played your hand at a blackjack table. Myself-I would never ever comment on how another person plays their hand of blackjack. It's their money & it's their gamble & they can play their hand any way they want. I play my hand vs the dealer & the rest of the people at the table I tune out & could care less about.

If you want to play incorrectly then do it. Just dont tell others to play incorrectly and then call it the right way to play

I play basic/book strategy strictly except I hate to surrender so I hit on my 15s and 16s when dealer is showing 7+.

However, I also using a counting system in addition to basic strategy and pretty much the only thing I do different is I will take insurance (I never take insurance otherwise) when the shoe is at +3 or better and I will not hit my 2s vs dealer 2 or 3 and I wont hit my 15s or 16s.

With that said.... The shoe very rarely gets to +3 or better for a long period of time so most of those decisions never even get to a point of being made.

jpero you really have no clue how to play.. BASIC strategy is a hit no a split... tell me why you want to split to 6's?? there are more sface cards in the deck than any other cards..do you really want 2 16s against the dealers 2??? no you dont. the 2 is not a break card for the dealer...you are 100 % wrong

Here is the system that has worked for me recently. I go into the casino with a set goal in mind. Trying to win 500-1000bucks on the black jack tables to I can go use that in the poker room where I feel I have a much better chance at making some serious coin. I'll start off buy going to the black jack table with a few thousand and betting 150 a hand. Sometimes I get lucky and meet my goal pretty quickly just by playing smart black jack and getting lucky cards. If I lose a hand for 150 I'll usually make the next hand 200. If that loses I'll make the next hand 250. If that loses I'll make the next had 300. When I finally win one I go back to betting small and keep working towards my goal. If I go on a serious losing streak and lose 1500 quick I'll either leave the table and hope to win it back playing poker or try and grind back my losses in black jack betting much smaller amounts. I've had more good days than bad days playing black jack in recent memory. The bad days can really mind fuck you though. They remind you of vegas vacation. Nothing you can do about it. You play great blackjack and doubledown/split at the right times and get 20's and the dealer turns over a 5 and takes 4 more cards and ends up with a 21. No worse feeling in the world losing a few k at the black jack table quick when you are playing sound strategically and the dealer is just hitting everything to fuck you.
