Latest on the Gulf Oil Spill

Question

A week after the accident and the well is worse know 4 fissure 5 times more oil leaking and no where near the equipment in place to deal with it. For all you drill baby drill fans, I wish you all had beach front houses.Obama finally got off his ass and made it down here Sunday after his press diner party only to reassure us that all that could be done would be and is being done, more pure bullshit.

If these fissures combine and make one large blowout this will be an open volcano that will bleed the entire reserve from the site it will meet up with the gulf stream and be carried both up the east coast and thru the canal and up the west coast. The has the potential to be the worst ecological disaster of all time....WORLD WIDE and that is no bullshit fellas..

It sounds like terrible damage, without a doubt. The ecological/economic injuries will be devastating.

That being said, I'm willing to trade off the risk of such accidents if it means we buy less oil from Middle Eastern governments.

I think if feeding your family and keeping a roof over your head putting clothes on your childrens backs to send them to school was the alternitive to filling up your pickup with $3.00 gas rather than $5.00 a gallon gas.. you may change your mind and choose the later.

You wanna talk about a real fucking disaster that no one has even mentioned...What happens four weeks out and we still have a huge spill...then a hurricane comes ripping through the gulf.  I couldnt even begin to imagine the fucking damage.  Thoughts on that ?

A hurricane would no doubt bring this to a total disaster which is the way it looks to be heading anyway. People just don&#x27;t realize how bad the current situation is never mind what a storm would do...worst case scenario may very well come true in that event...

I can&#x27;t believe there is no way to immediately recap this leak.  They are saying it could take weeks to re-drill another tap and close the one leaking.  This thing is going to continue leaking another month until they stop the bleeding???UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE

Goose, its actually substantially worse than that. Redrilling another tap will take closer to 3 months,which is essentially the only permanent solution to stop it for good. Gotta go at least 15000 ft below the ocean floor to do it right. Best hope is they can get some sort of containment device working underwater and then pipeline it out from there....This is really fucking bad

In the North Sea you must have a shut-off valve in place before you drill.&#xD;&#xA;America does not provide that law.

Huge tornado in MS yesterday. They say its not related but I think that it defnitely could be related. All this oil pouring into the Gulf has got to have some kind of serious effect on weather. After the entire 11 million gallons dumps in the coast it is going to be a hell hole down here. I am either ready to move or buy a beach house for super cheap when people start wanting to get rid of them. You could probably get some nice beach front property in front of the giant tar pit. Then maybe in 40-50 years or so it will get cleaned up and you could make a profit.

I am just about ready to move away from this place. This whole area is going to completely go to shit. Everything thrives off of the seafood industry, the beaches, etc. If you dont have any of that the entire area is going to go to hell. You are going to have people living on the freaking gulf coast and eating imported seafood. That just does not seem right.

... also, don&#x27;t forget what your electrical cord is connected to when re-charging your "electric vehicle."  Your electricity is most likely  generated from a coal-fired power plant.     Dirtier than burning gasoline !!  Of course, people don&#x27;t think that through.
