This what one of the victims’ mothers said:

“Jerry Sandusky admitted to my face, he admitted it… If they would have done something about it in 1998, and then again in 2002 – there was two chances they dropped the ball and I think they should all be held accountable.  I don’t even have words to talk about the betrayal I feel.”

Your heart has to go out to her and all the others who had their lives turned upside down because of Sandusky and those who protected him.

Honestly you seem to be ignoring the facts in the presentment.  Paterno knew that either Sandusky raped a child in his locker room, or that his assistant was capable of lying and fabricating a story about child pedophelia.  Explain to me how Paterno could not have believeed at least one of those things.

How could Paterno have simultaneously believed that (a) his assistant was honest and honorable and that (b) Sandusly was not a child pedophile.  It's impossible.  He had to believe one or the other or both.  Simple logic here.

Read my last response to you. I think he believed the GA and he reported it. Sandusky was no longer on his staff. His privileges were under the University. What more could he do?

He went to his superiors. No facts saying he did or did not confront Sandusky. He had no oversight on his privilges. Second Mile was contacted numerous times.
