1. I read in to EVERYTHING that people say. This is the FIRST time I challenged anything that I've read on this site. So you sound like a bafoon making that statement.

If I can be so candid.... I have owned 6 businesses now over the span of 21 years. I don't hire based on skin color, gender, or sexual orientation. I will say this: Out of all the elasticities I have hired, and believe me I have had many high turnover businesses, blacks have been the most challenging employees. I've never had one give me a full months worth a work without incidence of being late, having ill children, or whatever stupid excuse they can conjure up. I had a black woman call me once and said she couldn't make it in because her liver was splittin'. When I asked her what that was, she said, "you know, my liver, it split open." I told her that she needs to go to the hospital and then let me know what funeral home she's going to have her wake in. One guy recently, who was a really good guy and I thought would be a keeper, fell asleep in his office. I told him to please refrain from doing this and get some work done or go home. 2 hours later, I went in there and he was snoring and drooling on himself. Game over. Another time, I had a guy who was with me about a year and I tolerated his bs thinking if he made some good cash he'd become more motivated. I was opening another business in a separate state and I was commuting the guy back and forth on weekends. When I was on vacation, he got sideways, stole my car and took off. I called a friend of mine in the city where this guy was and told him to talk with this guy. About an hour later I was told that Steve, "didn't like flying anymore and quit." He stole my car because he wanted to leave right away and if I wanted it, I had to fly to where he lives and drive it back. I called the cops and promptly had his ass thrown in jail. I've had my share of trouble with white employees, but not to this magnitude and frankly you get gun shy about hiring African Americans because of what's happened over the past 21 years.

Over the years, I have interviewed many black people. When I asked them what they want to do, about 90% of the ones I've interviewed have said, "I want to be the boss so I can kick back and let others do the work." No shit. These people said that. Crazy. No pride in work. So, equating our current administration to this cultural phenomenon, it appears, with this massive appointments of Czars, Obama wants to "kick back and let others do the work." 

I try my best to not be racist, truly. However, come to my business and sit in my seat for a month.You'll get a firsthand education and then you won't be some pie-eyed idealistic liberal Democrat.

These are my experiences and the truth. If you want to call me racist, so be it.  In the words of Mary Maitlin, "how come you democrats always trump fact with opinion?"

yeah what we have today SEEMS to be more of a subconscious "bias"...than old school RACISM..
    *no doubt though there are MANY that still hate blacks simply because they have black skin....(I know a few)
     * of course ....me being a white male...i acknowledge that i'm not really qualified to make an educated assessment of actual conditions
     * in callmetim's post above...many would scream RACISM !...no...he gave blacks a chance....although maybe unfair to some blacks  that might be very competent (and thus be prematurely judged as not)....it's a natural reaction that most anyone would make...
       SOLUTION?........force callmetim to hire blacks anyway?....NO (affirmative action) become a more productive worker and you will get hired...as many are desperate to find quality workers  (me too) and could give a rat's ass what color you are....

this is a rediculous racist comment.  Are you saying Kobe got locked up in case you forgot he raped the girl in Colorado and yet was never charged.   Blacks hold onto things that had nothing to do w/ whites nor any of thier ancestors.  They want to accuse the white man for slavery.  They are all uneducated and I do not hold it against them but do you realize if the white men who brought them to this country as endentured servants they would of served thier days out in prison.  The slaves were criminals before they became slaves.  All they want to do is see it as a negative thing against the white man.  But we gave them a chance to come over and get out of prison yet the thanks we get is years and years of reverse racism.  Thing I find funny is they want to call themselves African-Americans well if that is the case then they do not realize Africa was a prison colony before it was the country it is today.  Also they do not realize there are just as many whites in Africa if not more than blacks.  In different countries they are aborigenees they are seen as dirty outcasts here in America we all try to accept them and there is always 1 black who thinks the white man owes him something.  Thinks he was wronged and in his lifetime he/she was treated a hell of alot better than they would of gotten treated in other countries.  Hell baseball a sport developed by a white man even celebrates the man who broke the color barrier they do not have a special day dedicated to the white players.  I am not racist but when black women cannot get a man cause all black men want white women unless they are better looking women.  I think they need to reevaluate themselves before casting stones at others. 

I hear where you are coming from and agree that most people have that "subconcious bias" or prejudice moreso than being inherently racist. I have a disdain for any ghetto, thug, ignorant person who doesn't contribute anything to out society whether black, white, yellow, or green. With regards to seeing a black guy in a nice car and thinking athlete I've thought it and I'm black but on the other end anytime I see a white kid in a nice car I think daddy's got money and they're a spoiled brat(especially living in Bethesda, Md) so my prejudice has no bounds..haha. It's inherent prejudice but I don't have any hatred toward any group. I once ran a mortgage shop and had various team members help with the interviewing process and had one of my loan officers who was white interview a black candidate. He told me that one of the 1st comments out of her mouth was, "phew I'm glad you're white - I hate working for black guys". Her expression was priceless when I later went in to introduce myself but it just shows EVERYONE has prejudices against different people including those of the same skin color.

There is so much in this post that has my going loopy but I will address one part and that's about athletes who are black, white, yellow, green get off on charges b/c they are RICH and charging them unless the case is airtight is a waste of money and time b/c their lawyers will get them off.  Personally I think what Stallworth did was dispicable but who am I to judge when that guys family went to court and made a statement on behalf of stallworth asking for a light sentence. I think what BB and Kobe were accused of doing is dispicable but BOTH got off b/c they have money and not b/c of skin color.

I didn't read the entire thread but the closest I can think of is the Kobe rape trial.

Kobe was never kicked off the team and was never really hated.  Drop the black white thing guys its on individual players and how likeable they are.
