Sometimes when you watch pro sports you can become frustrated because mid-season a lot of players dont look like there trying there hardest, but when you combine amateur players and $$...the motivation and intensity level changes completely...

That would never happen if they were receiving 5 G's a game. They would be happy with that amount and the chance to play the game they love

Unless it is regulated by some sort of responsible and reliable organization you are not getting Vegas to partake in anything...

 

Do you remember when MLS was first intoduced to the US? A big sport everywhere else, but here. It took Vegas almost 4 to 5 years before they started putting up lines. Do you know why they did that? Because they are not going to just put up some hap hazzard lines on events they know nothing about.

So to answer your question about some pick up basketball games being held at the MGM every day to get action is not only ridiculous, it's asinine.

COVERS allows u to tell someone they are sexually frustrated so long as ur hands are clean

Obviously if i did go through with an idea like this.  Some sort of legal document would have to be signed and approved by the players before hand.  So if they are willing to risk prison for a little bit of money, so be it.  But, that is the decision players face in any sport.

Also, another way to stop players from betting against themselves is to make a limit on how much people can wager on these events. 

That really is the least of my worries.

You need to think outside the box a little...  if u offer the guys 5k, someone can pay them off a lot more to lose.  And a signed document never stopped anyone.
So have this.  Winner of game moves on and loser has to go thru 24 hours of torture.  They may survive it or they may not, but this will motivate them too win.  And you can bet if they will survive the torture, this will bring double the money in!  Just an idea.

Yeah. great idea.

Amateur athletes would never be involved in fixing outcomes.

.....as if you could put together any significant sporting event involving casinos from your mother's basement.

This has game fixing written all over it LOL.

Only way this is possible is if the teams are picked at RANDOM maybe 15 minutes before the game, and then the players warm up while Bets are being placed live. 

The bookmakers would have to be damn good, and The players would have to be secluded to the court and have no access/connection to anyone else besides the players,  and coaches on the court

and if its a sport like basketball.  NO over/under betting, so the refs cant make to big of an impact

Even with these rules put into place, I dont see how it would work

The fact of the matter is that there is NO live sports to watch in vegas.  When your at the mecca of the gambling world, and you bet on a game and have to watch it on a tv?..that is just lame.

Somehow, someway live sports needs to be brought to vegas.
