Well with live events you must have a halftime show.
And since betting is the reason for the start of this new live league what better than to have halftime betting events.

And to ensure no cheating all entrants who do not finish first get a charge from a car battery that is wired to their nuts
The fact of the matter is that there is NO live sports to watch in vegas. When your at the mecca of the gambling world, and you bet on a game and have to watch it on a tv?..that is just lame.
Somehow, someway live sports needs to be brought to vegas.

So there is no way if vegas got involved that anyone would shave points or referees would make bad calls in favor of Covers members.
