First of all the housing market took off with Bush in office becaue of Clintons admin. Affordable housing for everyone is what I recall CLinton stating. He made the banks loosen the requirements to purchase a home. Lowering credit scores (for people who do not pay back any debts, hence the lower score) allowed people to buy homes in a rapid approach. Bush actually tried to tighten the requirements from the banks but was never allowed. WHy? Because everyone was making money selling homes so why stop a good thing? The housing market has not showed SIGNIFICANT gains, you are crazy if you believe that. You can find foreclosed and short sales all over the place. You have dems out there stealing from these homes so people have even more money they need to put back into the homes to fix them. Until the forecloses are gone the market will not rebound.

Now getting to the stupid American part, I feel the real issue is the fact that most of the younger Black generation is really clueless as to their history. All they know is their ancestors were done wrong by the white man and forced into slavery.

What these young blacks(and many young whites) don't realize is that the Democrats were the main slave owners and formed the Ku Klux Klan. I have talked to numerous people over the years that think the Republicans were behind slavery and that is why Minorities favor the Democratic race.

It is also shocking to find out that many people think that Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr were Democrats.

I really haven't discussed politics much here until the recent election, but it has always seemed to me that the Democrats want to keep the minorities poor in order to keep them where they want them, much like they did during slavery, while the Republicans want the minorities to improve and better themselves.

Yet the younger Blacks came out in droves to vote for the Democrat Obama, who is only planning on keeping them right where they are.

I think Republicans are equally sneaky with some of their tactics as well, but not in a way to control a race.

Am I wrong in my thinking?

Even if you were to tax the rich more, you wouldn't come close to putting a dent in the national debt. Just because you hear a tax cut doesn't mean the nation is losing money. That money is being cycled into ways for the government to collect and others to gain from.
