How long is your commute?

After driving about 45 miles back and forth for years, I now have a job that is literally across the street.. So nice to shower the night before, wake up at 7 40 walk to work and be there at 8!!!!

My commute is zero.

Haven't used an alarm clock in years.

Five day work week eight hours a day...

Who made those silly rules anyway???

2 years ago my commute was 70 minutes door to door which consisted of a 15 minute walk to the train station, a 40 minute train ride and another 15 minute walk from the station to the office. It was a freaking nightmare, only made worse when some ignorant loud mouth in a seat nearby would sit on their cell phone for 30 minutes on the train.

Now my commute is either a 20 minute walk or a 3 minute bus ride and I love it.

Since rush hour traffic by the bridge has become unbearable, when travelling across state lines, I now don the scuba gear, and swim across the river to save commuting time.

My wife has a quick commute.

10 mile drive takes me on average 30-40 minutes

My Wifey and I own a Townhouse in Wethersfield.  But I spend a majority of my time as a caregiver for my 87 year old father and manage his property in Simsbury.  It leaves me as sole heir because my only brother is a fukk-up and I have power of attorney and locked up 100% inheritance. Also oversee one multi-family house here in Simsbury that Wifey and I own outright.  All three of these properties will eventually be sold before we make our escape to Belize.  Wifey is ten years younger than I at 48 and was an only child.  She has an annuity that provides guaranteed income and gets a 20% raise this year.  I worked in a Teamster Shop for 20 years and am fully vested for my Teamster Pension.

There, I've finally spilt my guts on Covers.  And yes, Life is one big Party.

I don't mind a little commute (20-40 min).. Enough time for a coffee, few cigarettes and some music to relax.. 

Fvck public transportation..  Totally unacceptable.. Not an option

Back in the 90's I had a job that required me to check a voice mail box every 2 hours - this is before cell phones, so dirty pay phones it is. Needless to say, I was sick like 3 or 4 times a year.

Now, I haven't taken a sick day in like 8 years (at least one where I was really authentically sick) The only difference? NOT using public (read:diseased riddled) pay phones. Same goes for an enclosed fast moving disease snot box dropping me off somewhere "relatively close" to my job..... Fukk that............

About 8 minutes ... And I'm still late every day but i put in countless hours of unpaid OT every week.  

0 minutes. Work from home. Best option around if you can get it. 

Working from home is good for people that like to settle for less or are lazy.. No real person works from their house.

Were you born this way or did you have to work at it?

Mine is around 20-25 min. I don't mind it, let's me listen to sports radio in the car, or wind down from work.
