When will people get it???   ALL of these senseless massacres are carried out in "gun free zones"

These deranged individuals hit the soft spots where they KNOW that no law abiding citizens will be packing heat.

Notice they never do this in a crowded street?  That is because they know that some CCW John Public will blow their freaking head off.

I work in a building that is a "gun free zone" and I hate it.  My kids go to school in a "gun free zone" and that is killing me

    Sports-

Now your company may have a policy and obviously you wouldn't want to violate that and get fired.  However, my trainer told me that those "no firearms allowed" signs (if they have then in KY....they do in MN) are a joke.  He said if you violate it and are busted, it's a nominal trespassing fine (besides, if you carry concealed like you should, no one is going to know anyway!).

Fun story:  He said he was in his wife's work building and a guy asked him if he was carrying (he has a reputation...carries EVERYWHERE).  He said, "yes" (it was concealed).  The other guy says, "you can't do that here."  His reply:  "I don't care."  LOL.

as I said in another thread, gun control would probably have not helped in this case and others similar, when someone as deranged as this wants to go on a killing spree they will find other means to do so if guns were not available
    Gotta go pee!

Some great points are made in this thread. I have gotten into debates with my leftist/liberal family members about this issue. Just look at some figures nationwide. Obama's home city of Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws in the USA and yet also has a high crime rate.Washington DC is exactly the same. How is it that states like Wyoming, Idaho, and Vermont have such low crime with either: high rates of gun ownership or lack of gun control laws.

This still does not make it right for anyone to gain access to guns

It amazes me how adults can’t grasp the concept that “gun-free zones” are enforced by laws and criminals don’t obey the law.

They seem to believe that someone that intends to murder dozens of people and then kill themselves will suddenly stop and think “wait a minute, I can’t do this, this sign says I can’t bring guns into this place.”

Putting up a “gun-free zone” sign and thinking it will keep you safe from gun violence is about as asinine as putting up a “cancer-free zone” sign and thinking it will prevent you from getting cancer.

Good lord, tell me you are joking.

A simple internet search would have shown you that is a historical myth debunked many times over.

Some great points are made in this thread. I have gotten into debates with my leftist/liberal family members about this issue. Just look at some figures nationwide. Obama's home city of Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws in the USA and yet also has a high crime rate.Washington DC is exactly the same. How is it that states like Wyoming, Idaho, and Vermont have such low crime with either: high rates of gun ownership or lack of gun control laws.

i'm going to guess b/c hardly anybody actually lives in those states?

You cannot remove evil from this world. You cannot legislate evil out of existence, or ban evil, or lock it away. We can coddle every child and nerf the world until its a fluffy ball of angora sweaters, and pieces of **** will emerge from it who hurt others. Thats life. The evil didn't come out of the barrel of the gun. A blob of metal did. The evil was holding the gun. The evil was inside a human being, an individual whochose to kill. We can't pass a law or change our society or do anything to remove evil from the world. We can pass laws that eliminate our ability to choose, but not our ability to be evil.

Follow the money?  What does that have to do with anti-2A people believing that someone that intends to murder dozens of people and then kill themselves will suddenly stop and think “wait a minute, I can’t do this, this sign says I can’t bring guns into this place”?

Criminals will always find a way to have a gun if they want one.  The only difference is whether or not law-abiding citizens are allowed the means to defend themselves.  And that has nothing to do with following the money.

Schools aren't "gun free zones" because people can still carry guns into schools.  Actually, few places have gun bans such as airplanes and prisons.  Now passengers and inmates rarely shoot people.  Furthermore, shootings can still happen on crowded streets.  For example, assassination attempts on Kennedy and other guarded politicians in the past.

So they still wanted to kill people despite the lack of guns ? It's almost like the guns aren't to blame.

If someone walked into a school and killed 20 children in just about any other country in the world, the majority of citizens would be so God-damned pissed off, they would do anything -- anything -- to prevent it from happening again.

This behind*ole had an assault weapon no one -- no one -- needs.

But what's the gun lobby's reaction? More guns! Like they’re still talking about muskets in the 1700s.

If you don't get it after a class of kindergartners is slaughtered, you never will.

The US stands alone on this planet in its gun violence, and the entire world looks at it, thinking, when will they get it?!?

Wow. If this doesn’t change you, nothing ever will.

Eat a turd. The idiot could have tossed a grenade in there or filled the room with gas. You can't legislate evil. And you can't trust government to  protect your dumb a ss.

More children are killed by drowning each year than are killed by guns yet I don’t see any highly emotionally groups that are completely devoid of logic screaming for us to ban swimming pools.

    Hmm…
