So, you work in law enforcement, Broc? Or just think cops look cute in those those uniforms?? Give us a break.
We all agree the kid was out of line, but to be tasered was overkill. There were 8 cops for christ's sake. Cops are always wanting to be the tough guys - then be the fucking tough guy, and subdue the punk, you fucking pussies!!! They signed up for the job, so there's no sympathy from me, especially over some kid resisting arrest.

This shit pisses me off. He resisted, quite mightily, the peace officers and just before the taze he tried to break free one last time. A tazer was completely warranted seeing as he was resisting, using vulgar language, and could have been a threat to Kerry and the audience. In a world after the VT thing nothing can be taken for granted. I remember a time where they would have beat your bloody carcass and carted you off to a jail cell.

Obviously we're missing the part of the video where this guy did something to heighten security to the point that two security guards were camped right behind him, waiting for the signal to remove him. Why were many people clapping as they took him away? Why were people getting up and leaving in disgust as he started his questions? There's more to this than what we're seeing.

First off this is completely different situation seeing it was on a COLLEGE CAMPUS.
In college students are encouraged to speak their mind and Universities allow students to express their feelings and thoughts as long as there is not any type of violence. The students obviously was obnoxious and was probably out of line but there was nothing that warranted the cops putting their hands on him.
If I put my hands on a cop in anyway that is considered assaulting a police officer. If a police officer puts their hands on me for no reason what is that??
The cops not once asked him to leave. Instead they rushed at him and basically attacked him thinking he would submit to their almighty authority. If the police had been more proactive and talked with the student prior to jumping him then this would not have happened. All the police had to do was approach him and tell him that what he was doing was out of line and they were informed to remove him from the event. I don't think the kid would have fought back or anything if the situation was handled that way. If a cop comes up and grabs me when I am clearly doing nothing wrong I would be pissed also and fight back.
The whole time he is throwing his hands up and basically saying he will leave if they stop with their aggressive actions. Everyone here thinks they would go quietly and without squirming if they felt they were being arrested for doing NOTHING WRONG?
Free speech is a right everyone is entitled. Obviously there was wrong doing on the cops part if 2 were put on paid leave and everything against the student will most likely be dropped. A disorderly conduct or public disturbance is the only thing he could have been arrested for and police did not say that or tell him that is what his arrest was based upon. He kept asking and they said nothing. They were not even real police officers; they were campus security.

As a matter of fact I have but on a different level. Mine was more you fuck with me I shoot you no questions asked basis. I completly agree with what they did. John Kerry was speaking there and this obviously demanded a higher level of security which warrented the cops reaction to this loud mouth kid. When they tried to restrain him, he continued to fight. Fuck him. His rights went out the window.
Total guy males a good point that we're missing a something here. Someone obviously is only publishing the video that makes the kid look innocent.

I don't have a problem with the Tazer there, the kid was given ample opportunity to submit. Why do people feel the need to struggle with cops? It's just stupid.
What most people fail to realize is that cops are human beings, and they have a lot of experiences and memories of many situations just like that one. It's real easy to look at one video and say the cops were too agressive, but these guys have encountered many idiots like this one, and the situations don't always end well. The one time they let down their guard and give someone like this some slack is the time that they get hurt or worse. I've done security work at sporting events and concerts and you never know which asshole is going to be the one to sucker punch you when you let your guard down. Or hurt someone else.
It was just a taser people, remember Kent State?
And the only reason the cops were put on paid leave is to quiet the pussies & their "outrage". Wonder how outraged they'd be if during the struggle some innocent person sitting there got knocked over or hit?

All the videos floating around youtube start around here. You can see in the videos that his questioning gets kind of inappropriate, so somebody cut his mic. Instead of shutting up, he starts yelling and making an even bigger scene. He struggled all the way up the aisle, and started violently trying to free himself. They threatened to taze him and he wouldnt stop fighting, so he got tazed. They only had to arrest him because he was causing a disruption and wouldn't leave peacefully. He wasn't being silenced for asking tough questions, trust me. It's a shame that they had to taze the guy, but he had a chance to calm down and didn't take it. He probably didn't pose a physical threat to anybody in the room, but someone can't just hijack the floor of a forum like that and expect not to get kicked out. This wasn't some poor guy who was brutalized for trying to ask some tough questions. He's just an obnoxious guy who had a fit when there wasn't time for his questions and refused to be calm even when he was given the chance to speak. He was looking for trouble, and everyone applauded when he was forced to leave. Nothing pisses me off more than hearing stories about power tripping cops abusing their power, unnecessarily tazing or arresting people, etc. It's a huge problem and I'm glad it's being discussed. Just don't mistake this for one of those cases" |

Sounds like your were an MP and or in the military, if so, I have nothing but respect and thank you.
I've seen more video angles and have read some more info about this case, so I've since calmed down a bit. Again, I don't disagree the kid is a punk and out of line.

You guys that are so quick to rush to defend this little prick might care to know a bit more information.
The kid has pulled "stunts" like this before. He does stuff like this, video tapes it, and posts it on his website. One example is when he camped out in line at the Harry Potter book premier with a huge sign that read "Harry Potter Dies"...pretty funny actually.
As for this case though, he actually handed a video recorder to one of his friends before approaching the podium. He interrupted another student who was in the process asking a question to preach his agenda. He knew there would be a scene, and simply got a bit more than he expected. There is also audio of him cursing at Kerry prior to the video tape starting. He also yelled out..."we've listened to you Mr. Kerry for 2 hours, it's time you listen to me for a few mintues".
Look the punk was combative, resisted arrest, and intentionally instigated the whole situation.
I think it's hilarious he got "roughed up".

first of all, i can assure you that i am not one of those guys that justifies all the lawsuits out there. in fact, it angers me when i see all these ludicrous suits against whomever. but the fact is, this kid broke violated no law when the cops jumped him. he probably should have just layed down and let them arrest him, but nonetheless he did nothing illegal. and i hate to turn this into a race/political issue, but if it was a colored person who was protesting and got tasered, i guarantee you that there would be a huge fucking lawsuit with every civil rights group calling for people to get fired and raising a stink. those campus cops would be fired and al sharpton would be on every tv station screaming racism.

Did any of you tools actually watch the full video that shows the questions that the kid was asking Kerry??? They were all very well thought out and intelligent questions. He was not just being some punk. He was speaking his mind, and he had the right to do that. All of you need to get a grip.
