I never bet the super bowl cause I want to watch and enjoy it. I have not watched a game I had a big bet on in 10+ years. Why do that to yourself? The emotional roller coaster is to much for me. I learned that lesson long ago when I threw a hole in my friends wall after a backdoor cover. I like to make my bets and check that night when all is said and done. Happy or Sad one time, not 500 times back and forth.

I watched the Australian Open this last Sunday w/ a future bet on Djokovic that ended up winning me 3,900.
I must have lost 3 years off my life w/ all the stress I went through. Anyone who seen the match would understand.
I agree with this 100%! If I have alot of units on a game I NEVER WATCH IT! Just toooooooooooooooooooooooo stressful. I love to bet games at like a unit and sit back with a cold one (maybe even get a hummer) and watch game away. But 10-20 + units on a game and forget about it! I usually do house work or work on my garden till game is well over an then check score!!!

I was in the same boat. Had a huge future bet I made pre tourney on the Joker and pulled an all nighter to watch that marathon. I thought Nadal was going to win for sure when we were in the 5th set. Incredible match. I agree that it sucks to watch the games sometimes, but I always have to know whats going on. I placed a few bets on some early morning tennis matches tonight. I like waking up and checking out what happened without having to deal with the swings of emotion.

I bet the FIRST SUPERBOWL ... I was 19...had a bottle of Cutty Sark scotch bet on it ... the Chiefs LOST bad if I remember and I threw my 13" black & white thru my front door window..sooo the total loss was $110 TV .. $12 front window and I think $9 bttl of Cutty.....but I got laid during the game....goood memories.
i'm 65 now and will be watching the game this year with a big crowd from my wifes church....for sure I won't get laid either..

It depends, but I usually like betting on a game I can watch, if it's football.
It makes every possession that much more important. If it's a pickem or I took a dog, I'm just hoping to get up 2 possessions early so I can relax a tad. Never get comfortable until it's pretty much over.
If it's basketball it's different, especially the pros. In the pros, it just goes back and forth and no one really plays until the 4th quarter. I just finished watching the Lakers came that I fell asleep for most of until there were 8 mins left or so.
If it's a college basketball game, I'll make sure it's close to a cover by halftime, and usually watch the second half only.
Funny cuz I don't bet baseball very much, because it's the most boring sport ever, but it's the game I pay most attention to if I bet it. A score can happen at any time without any telling. A score may only happen in 1/2 inning the entire game.
It's like the opponent being at the 1 yard line, except the team can score 2 TDs+ during the drive, or score 0. Haha, I'm hyping up boring baseball.

I was hating life and could not believe the ineptness I was watching. I of course lost my wager and was pissed off for the next hour or two.
