Books you dominated the entire thread and won every single argument hands down.
Rest of this blathering nonsense is clogging up GD.
But interestingly it seems to be the same guy lately who keeps engaging in the "blathering nonsense"
And his continuous "clogging up GD" with cut and pasted non-sense and trying to pick a fight with anyone who questions his rhetoric... in a desperate attempt to gain some time of attention...
Thank you shooter for this thread... Because when you create a topic for simple dialogue, it will allow the "covers village idiot" to show his true colors...
Funny part is that he keeps using the same gimmicks of bashing/insulting, relegated to correcting spelling, and trying to claim he has won discussion when he is getting owned... and everyone else reading it knows...
Covers knows

yo its amazing that some of you are so blind and oblivious to what this world has really come to....first of all ...TSA won't conduct a pat down unless you have alarmed the metal detector or the body scanner machine.....that being said....once someone alarms they must resolve the alarm by patting you down and searching all of you accessible property. You certainly have the right to refuse this from happening, however a local law enforcement officer will then take over and you will not be allowed to fly unless u agree . By the way your local police officer will probably be alot more agressive towards you cause they feel you are now hiding something. By the way Tsa is not there looking for DRUGS, however if they stumble across it they will get local law enforcement involved....one last thing....how safe would you feel sitting next to someone no matter there age or sex...knowing that they alarmed a metal detector or body scanner....and nothing was done to investigate what it was......when your 20k feet in the air its too late.
im pretty sure thats false, isnt it random ppl who are selected for the pat down. i know ive gotten the pat down before and havent set off the metal detector.
and if you are right, is the tsa really saying to the would be terrorists, you can sneak whatever you want on the plane as long as you remember to take the change out of your pocket bc you wont get patted down if you dont set off the metal detector????
im not sure what they do know, bc as i take shit out of my pockets, but back in the day, if you set off the metal detector, they busted out the hand wand, and found the source, like a belt buckle, or necklace... i dont see how patting down ones 'entire' body is the best solution to finding metal. drug dealers are notorious for putting shit up their asses, you mean to tell me a would be terrorist wouldnt smuggle bomb macking accessories up there? under your logic, they could smuggle shit up their butthole, set off the metal detector, then be patted down, which obviously wont find anything, and then they are free to fly on the plane.
this post reminds me of this saying i once heard "its amazing that some of you are so blind and oblivious to what this world has really come to."

Take a look at how the Israelis run airport security. They don’t use Orwellian practices yet their airports haven’t been penetrated by terrorists since 1972. And do you know how they do it? Profiling.
But we can’t do that here because it might hurt someone’s feelings so let’s all just shut our mouths and let the government employees take naked pictures of us while a stranger feels up our children.

But to be fair, look at the size of distinction of the two countries. Israel with it's limited 12 airports compared to our hundreds, if not over a thousand. If we were to practice their same approach, our system would come to a crawl. Then what?

Although I do agree with the profiling part. That's what the Chinese do when I traveled there. Pretty much everyone else goes by, but if you're of dark descent and/ or Middle eastern, more than half the time you get pulled to the side to be examined. That's what I noticed anyway when I was there.
I wonder if those people will be crying foul to the Chinese government and I wonder if the Chinese govt will give a damn.

True, but how much more manpower and funding do we have than Israel? How many hundreds of billions of dollars are wasted every year by our government that could be (at least a part of) put towards a program like this?
Of course it would require hiring some people with IQs above 75 for it to work.

Thats absoultely correct, a metal detector only detects metal. So if there is no metal in a fully assembled bomb which is possible, I suppose you could sneak it up your butt. However, the body scanner machines if you were chosen to go through that, you wouldn't get it past that way.
Also, there are random searches, but that doesnt necessarily mean a pat down. Oh and by the way most airports don't use the wand anymore. If you have traveled and know anything about some of the technology that is used nowadays, you would know that the have these little swabs kinda looks like a piece of paper and they swipe it across your hands and or property and the results either alarm or clear you. I'm sure your intelligent enough to know what their looking for...trust me it's not drugs.
oh yea ShemusOToole, thanks for the observation. You've actually made me realize the kind of people we have to deal with in life. TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL TOOL sorry for the run on sentence......lmao

So after finally skimming through this thread, I'm deciding to chime in. I do not see the big deal with what happened. The little girl was NOT groped by any means. The TSA agent was very professional and was talking to her the whole time to ease any discomfort she might be feeling. She definitely wasn't "sticking her hands down the pants" like some on here were suggesting. I've had the exact same random pat downs on me at airports as well as ballgames. I'm pretty sure that I don't look like a terrorist, yet I've been searched and have been ok with it. Now if it were some creepy male TSA guy touching that little girl, taking his time, and spending more time in inappropriate areas, I guess I would be a little more upset. But I think this TSA agent followed the correct procedures for pat down. I think it's unfortunate that this had to happen at all, but this is the world we live in.
Come on guys, where do we draw the line? What age limit do we set to now allow searches? 6? 10? 16? Any minor? If we set any kind of age limit, then we're depending on TSA to make judgment calls on how old someone is at that point. And I agree with most of you, the TSA agents I've encountered are dumber than rocks and shouldn't be making any decisions whatsoever. Let's say that no one under the age of 10 should be subject to search. That's when a terrorist starts putting shit down his 9 yr old's pants and makes us pay. Or do we search that 9 yr old b/c of his skin color and garb? Well now we have a major civil rights violation. I think b/c it happens to be a young white girl, is why everyone is getting worked up. Any kind of parameters that TSA puts in place for searches would create a problem.
As for what happened prior to the camera rolling, who knows. Did the detectors go off on one of the family members, multiple members, or at all? I did see that the mom was patted down as well, so that tells me the TSA agent didn't just pick out the little girl at random. And if it was something to do with the metal detectors, then I def have no prob with this. What I would have a problem with is if none of them got searched after the detectors went off. Then let's say, I was behind them and set the detectors off. If they pulled me aside to search, I would be pissed.. esp if I was running late or already having a bad day. I would make the biggest fucking scene ever and file some complaints. Besides, I'm pretty sure profiling at the airport is already happening, so don't worry... they're not letting all Arabs just walk through with no searches. I think this search was sort of a good thing. It lets people see that TSA is going search anyone, so don't try to smuggle shit through security. Arabs, whites, blacks, 6 yr olds, 60 yr olds... it doesn't matter. Also, it puts minorities at ease a little bit, showing they're not only going to search that 6 yr old Arab boy with a mustache and turbin, but they will search that 6 yr old white girl as well.
As for if it was my kid that this happened to, I would be ok with it. That's only b/c the TSA agent in the video did her job and conducted the search properly. Now, if I was the parent and witnessed something truly inappropriate going on, it would be a different story. What happened wasn't that big of a deal, so let's get over it.

nothing wrong with this at all. all it takes is one story to change the perception of how we see anything in todays world. if that child was carrying bomb, however unlikely that may appear, and that child got onto the same plane your your family was on, and that plane blew up, what is one of the first questions you would ask? how the hell did a bomb get onto an airplane, and what could have been done to prevent this?
you get the response, "well sir, you see, it was a very innocent looking 6 year old girl, and we never would have thought she could be carrying a bomb because shes only 6 and just looks so cute, so we just let her on by to avoid anyone getting mad at us FOR TRYING TO PROTECT THEM"...our society is predicated on cause and effect, something tragic must first happen to open peoples eyes to the possibility of it happening again.
some of you are reading this and thinking that im crazy. the girl was 6, and white, and with her family. theres no way she could pose a threat.
well what if she were 8 years old, but of middle east decent and was wearing a veil to cover her face? is it justified then because she "looks" more suspicous and the stereotype is that middle easterners are terrorists? thats racial profiling, and everyone knows thats a no no.
also, at 6, usually you havent developed reason and morals except for those that your parents have instilled in you. if her parents were crazies or terrorists, what better way to get what you need on the plane than to have your adorable white adorable 6 year old daughter sneak it in. no one would ever suspect her.
the TSA employee was very nice, and clearly explained what she was doing as she was doing it, and while im no more of a fan of the TSA than the next person.......THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS VIDEO

The mother who was there said they stuck their hands into her pants and touched her underwear.
As to your point of where do we draw the line at what age? The real question is where do we draw of government searches? As soon as I walk out my door? When I enter a shopping mall? When Im pulled over by police? When I ride train or bus? When I go into a bar? Where do these searches stop? Because TSA has big plans of expansion you can bet on that. Thinking that the government can keep you safe is just flawed thinking. No matter how much they take your rights away and tell you they will keep you safe the truth is there is always going to be risk in the world and the government can stop that no more than they can stop the sun from rising. And if you look around the world recently there are prime examples of government being completely powerless to stop a real crisis. Look at katrina, the gulf oil,and fukushima. Real crises that needed decisive action and what did the government do? Dropped the ball over and over and over again because when it comes down to it they are completely powerless to stop anything.
If you want to give up your rights for the illusion of security thats your choice but dont ever forget thats what it is is a illusion. And if you go back and look at the history of the world there is nothing more dangerous than a runaway government drunk on power. This is a very slippery slope we are on.
