This study does not show a causal relationship between omega 3&#x27;s and cancer, it only draws a link between the two, correlation does not equal causation.  It was not double blinded and not controlled and this study did not look at the partcipants supplement use or diets, it looked only at blood levels of fatty acids. Just another one of those studies which the media and the public jump to conclusions without any sort of real scientific evidence.

yeah, i did some more reading and that was the same conclusion i got.  apparently, there is a study in progress right now on fish oil that should be more accurate, hopefully.

Heyyyy sharpaction.Are fish oils and multivitamins something that I would really benefit from taking?  If so, what do I look for in an omega?  Any evidence that we really don&#x27;t absorb much of our multivitamins?  Do you only bet hockey?  Did you win again last season?

hey spitfire. I personally believe that eating a good diet with exercise is the best way to stay healthy. I dont take any vitamins or supplements.

Regarding fish oil, If your dietary omega 6:3 ratio is high then fish oils are a safe way to get omega 3's for our bodies. If for whatever reason you find that you can't consume a reasonable amount of omega 3 and keep your omega 6 intake low in your diet then you may benefit from a supplement. Ideally you want to have around a 1:1 omega 6 :: omega 3 dietary ratio but this is not easy to acheive. The SAD is about 20:1 ratio so many can benefit from fish oil even though absorption rates are not as high as claimed. High amounts of omega 6 cause inflammation in the body which lead to other problems. Fish oils help in decreasing inflammation in the body. You should look for 600 mg DHA/ 900 mg EPA ratio when buying a fish oil.

There is lots of evidence that multivitamins have minimal absorption rates and there is no good evidence that they can really benefit someone with a deficiency. If you take one everyday it can become expensive without much benefit. If you find out you are deficient in something then just alter your diet instead of wasting money on multivitamins.

Hockey is my favourite sport to bet on and I was +$ again last season. I also bet on other sports like tennis and soccer.

Sharpaction, for my morning smoothie, can you rate these in order based on which are healthier than the others (all organic)coconut milk, soy milk, rice milk, almond milk.

Coconut milk &gt; Almond milk &gt; rice milk &gt; soy milkCoconut milk is the clear winner and soy milk is the clear loser to be sure.  (sorry that I&#x27;m not sharpaction)
