I have been neglecting my legs for years and need to hit them hard. How often a week can I work them and does anyway have any supersets or routines they like??

Squats, squats and more squats. The only exercise you need for legs. Plus to start out with you don't even need any weight. Use the bar or even nothing at all.
After that you can add lunges. Carry some lighter dumbbells while doing them.
Good luck with those wheels! Don

Degenerate... It depends on a lot of things like your age, and your goals.
If you are young and still playing sports the previous poster is correct in that squats are a great workout. If you are on the older side or just went to be in shape there is no reason for the stress on your knees.
Great alternatives to squatting: Hack Squats or Leg Press. If you are lifting to build muscles higher weights less reps. If you are just trying to get toned... 3 or 4 sets of 10.
Other important leg workouts = calf raises, leg curls (hamstrings) and leg extensions (quads)
Other than these I recommend 15-20 minutes of cardio daily. Either stationary bike or elliptical are best in my mind... though the treadmill is sufficient as well.
Good Luck
Oh by the way, as far as how often... You really shouldn't be doing legs anymore than twice a week... and give yourself at least 3 days between leg workouts.

Squats, Hack squats, leg presses, and dead lifts and your legs will grow like a weed. Don't stop on a lift just because it hurts go beyond it and you'll push muscle growth to a whole nother level.
