Ok after the christmas and new years madness i felt like i needed to lose a few pounds.

I have always been the type where two days of pasta would add a half to a pound to the scale.

So i read up a bit and found that some people do not handle the empty carbs that well (25 % of all people) because their blood sugar can not keep us, thus forces the body to make all those carbs into fat cells.

Anyway so here is what i have been doing since January.

    1) Eat meat, fish, eggs, roasted on a pan rye bread with sugar, various veggies, tomatoes, cucumbers, bacon and the like for breakfast.  Do not eat bread or any normal breakfast products, nor any milk.

    2) For lunch basically some of the same, or avocado, cucumber, frozen veggies heated in the microwave.

    3) Dinner, instead of patatoes i sometimes use jerusalem artichokes, that are like patatoes just healthier and different composition that does not affect the blood sugar.  Meats, fish, chicken and various veggies. Do not eat a lot of root veggies cooked since they are not good for on a diet.

    4) Once a week eat normal, + eat sweets or cake or whatever you want.

Exercise 30 minutes a day , that is me bicycling to work and back.

In one month i have lost close to 20 pounds and it has not felt live i was on a diet or anything and i can still eat sweets and cake once in a while at work.

I really think the key here is to cut out all the fast carbs. Pasta, Rice, bread.

Yup it has worked amazingly well. It is interesting because i have at other times trained A LOT and eaten less portions but still with the fast carbs and my results have not been so good and steady as this approach !

eat as much as you want, just eat the right things,.  the quality of the calories is much more important than the quantities of calories.

sounds like you are on the right track.  not many people are.

What kind of meat do you eat for breakfast other than bacon?

Well i have been eating chicken, some pork .. not so much red meat that i find it to be heavy in the morning.

Also some fish like smoked salmon, schrimps.

I would say favorite sort of meal that should last me until launch is 2 eggs , 1 piece of meat/fish (not to big), 1 piece of rye bread roasted on a pan with a little bit of sugar drizled over the bread, 2-3 cherry tomatoes, some cucumber slices, maybe a banana.

at times i also added some spinach.

But it is also important to allow yourself to eat "normal" once a week so your metabolism does not go down (even if you will gain a bit that particular day).

Also i find that i still can eat a slice of cake and some candy at work. Just not all the time.

Also i find that i still can eat a slice of cake and some candy at work. Just not all the time.

A slice of cake at work?

C'mon man. Cut out the sugar. Sweets are nonsense. Youre on the right track with only slow burn carbs that dont spike your blood sugar. Beans. Lentils. Yams. Slow-cooked oatmeal

Point is its not like i needed to lose 50 pounds or something. I just wanted to lose some of what i gained in the Christmas month and it has worked well.

I still want to be able to eat some of the fun stuff. I am not looking to eat beans and lentils for the rest of my life :)

100ish grams of carbs a day is fine, so long as you are getting carbs that are dense in fiber, from vegetables.  just wanna nix the sugar carbs,,,,

sodium isn't an issue, and some companies make no sugar added pickles. I cook some of the same recipes i grew up on from my nana, just no sugar and they usually taste about the same,,,,,,,can substitute some healthier sweetners if needed

precisely. some carbs are fine. it is mainly just sticking away from the snacking type carbs (that contain bunch of sugar)

most of that weight you've lost has been your glycogen stores, not necessarily fat.  if you keep this up for a while, you'll start to see some fat come off, but as of right now, i bet you wouldn't be able to walk into a gym and lift as much as you used to.  your body is utilizing all of its "quick" energy.

definitely losing a lot of fat. Clothes are not so tight anymore, same with pants. Have to tighten up the belt a few notches.
