On HBO's Hard Knocks, Chad Johnson says he eats McDonalds 3 times a day....Here I am, trying to balance working out and excercise with eating healthy and nutritious and this guy is eating garbage 3 times a day chasing Big Macs down with French Fries yet maintains in tip-top football shape. Must be nice to be born wih those type of genetics.

Don't believe it for a second.  He trained with Freddie Roach (legendary boxing trainer) during the off season to get himself in better shape than last year.  I seriously doubt he's eating McD's 3 times a day.  He's full of shit, but not Big Macs

Even if he did, he is a professional football player. Do you realize the amount of calories a starting wide receiver will burn in a practice or a game?

What he does is the equivalent to High Intensity Interval Training - burns fat at a very high rate.

If you put coca cola instead of fuel into the tank of a race car it will not run very long no matter how fine of an automobile it is.

The same goes for humans and poison (McDonalds).

But what about the choice of foods? All those eggs and ham and cheese can’t possibly be good for him, can they? Says Klion, “I think for him, because of his caloric demands, he can probably eat whatever he wants to.” And besides, Klion says, if you’ve got to eat that much, it better be enjoyable, or you won’t be able to keep up.

I understand swimming might burn a few more but its the same idea.

chad even said, you can eat whatever you want if you work out right.

I'm not doubting his workout routine, I'm sure he trains as hard and intense as anybody....he has to, being in the NFL and going against the competeition he does. I'm just amazed how some people can eat like shit, not just Chad, but work out hard, and still look good, regardless of what kind of foods their putting inside their body...On the other hand, on the T.O show, Terrell Owens goes back to Alabama to see his family and turns down fried chicken, say's he'll just eat the vegetables.

No apples to apples there, Sammy.  Phelps diet actually has some good nutrients that will be absorbed.  McDonald's puts so much sugar in there "food" to get you addicted, that your body doesn't absorb the good nutrients.  Don't think they put sugar in that big mac?  Research it.  Fast food industry is like drug dealers.

Highly doubt he is eating this because all that fat would make him sluggish as hell in practice/games.

But yeah if he was eating this it wouldnt really matter because he busts his ass and burns it off. Big macs are loaded with fat & protein so he's basically on a dirty bulk doing all that cardio and weight training.

This is why its stupid when people think that by just eating right you will get into good shape. The same goes for lifting without eating right. Gotta do both to look great.

A Big Mac has 29 grams of fat and 25 grams of protein.

A skinless chicken breast has 7.5 grams of fat and 45 grams of protein.

A chicken breast has 0 grams of sugar while a big mac has 9 grams of sugar and 1,040mg of sodium.

He would be sluggish as hell from fat, sugar and sodium.  The shit is poison.

As long as McDonald's, Coke, Pepsi and all those other garbage brands spend the equivalent of the defense budget on advertising, people in the US will continue to grow into the largest people on earth.  I don't know if Chad or Michael Phelps eats that much bad food, but their entire lives revolve around intense physical exercise, so they may be able to get away with it, whereas the average person eats fast food and then "exercises" walking from the couch to the fridge and back.Supersize-me is starting at wide out for the Bengals.

There is no point in arguing with this idiot. He does not understand a damn thing about genetics, nutrition, or exercise.

Remember, he was a boxer in the army. That makes him an expert on the subject.

I could see it... Remember, this isn't some guy that sits behind a desk all day then hits the weights for an hour or plays a game of pick up at the Y and calls himself an 'athlete'. Those 'two a days' would more than offset any junk he might eat.

Plus, who said he was scarfing down Big Macs and Quarter Pounders? Maybe he's having the Garden Salad with Ranch dressing on the side.

3000 a day isn't that much.  I think his diet is closer to 12,000 a day.

If you can burn what you eat, then you neutralize yourself so no harm done.
