Anyone have info on ear-wicking?

Does anyone in here ear-wick? What exactly is it, and what are the benefits?

From what I understand you place a "wick" in your ear and then light it. I am always battling ear issues so I was hoping someone could shed some light on it.

ive heard its total bullshit but have no proof

because of my alergies i use debrox with a bubble syringe.  works pretty good for me.

twoheart I live in Pa. and have heard of earwicking the Amish are big on it and from what I have heard it works.

About a month ago, I had my doctor perform an ear irrigation.I could hardly hear out of my right ear.Basically they have you hold a small cup under your ear and use pressurized water to remove the wax and other debris.The nurse did my right ear first and quite a bit of  junk had come out. My hearing was back to normal in my right ear.She then did my left ear,which I didn't think I had a problem hearing.After performing the procedure on my left ear, it turns out that I had a ball of wax the size of two pinto beans!When the doctor came in after the procedure, he told me that the reason I could hear in my left ear, even with that large blockage was that it was located above my ear drum.He also recommended using Debrox.If your having problems hearing get an ear irrigation ..... you'll be glad you did ....!!!!!!

I tried it like 10 years ago, didn't do much, felt kinda relaxing and you hear crackling of the beeswax burning. Also you need someone to help you do it
