Anyone Ever Juice
My wife was not so keen on the greens but we remedied that wit a half inch or inch chunk of ginger root that really masks the bad taste of the greens. I also use horseradish and peppers to make stuff taste better. You will find what you like and don't like but I definitely reccomend ginger root. It is a must have for us

tried my first green drink, and surprisingly it was actually good. I have reservations about drinking te fruity juice recipes, as they can contain almost a days worth of carbs in one drink, and that much fructose seems bad to me
i bought almost a weeks worth of juicing produce for 11$ last week
when you juice kale, do you remove the stem? i did once and didn't the other time, and didn't see much any difference
i was going to post the link to jointherebbot, but saw you already posted it. My mom watched some movie/doc that pushed that site, and their recipes seem nice and easy
And club was asking about satiety, i drank a green drink for a late breakfast on friday, and the first time i thought about being hungry again, was late night and i had been getting all hungried up for awhile at that point
i got a box of about 70 oranges for 4$, so i've been juicing an OJ with my bfst lately. Beats out the 1$ per orange i had been paying, BUT the cara cara oranges might actually be worth it, if you've never had, you better get on them, sooooo friggin good

a week's worth of produce for $11 is awesome. i just bought $25 worth yesterday, and i'll be lucky if it lasts a week. as for juicing kale, i always leave the stems in. not really sure if it makes a difference either way.
a side not for everyone though... not sure what brand/model of juicer they have, but i've tried 3 different juicers. the Omega VRT350 is by far the best one i come across. however, it is also the most expensive one. i think it was a little over $300 at Bed Bath and Beyond after using a 20% off coupon that we got in the mail. we also tried one made by Cuisinart and the Jack Lalanne (sp?) one, and they are terrible compared to this one. they waste so much juice, it's not even funny. there was one point when using the Jack L one, where it kept shooting out the spinach, and not one drop of spinach juice came out. i even took the residual and put it back through, but nothing. the Cuisinart one wasn't quite as wasteful as the Jack L, but it is by far the biggest pain in the ass to clean of the 3 that we've used.
the Omega isn't too bad to clean, and it definitely extracts the most juice by a mile. it's also easy to collect the residual veggies separately. so, we actually have leftover spinach and cucumber residual, in case we want to make spinach dip or tzatziki sauce. my fiancee has also used the residual carrot to make carrot cupcakes in the past. the one knock on it is that it takes much longer to juice with the Omega. it runs at about 80rpm, while the others are like 3000rpm or something crazy. this is probably why it extracts so much more juice. it is much more expensive, but i feel like it will pay for itself by not wasting so much fruits and veggies. the only other one that we want to try is the Breville. we hear great things about it, but it wasn't available at the BB&B store near us. so, we actually threw it on our wedding registry, and if it is a good juicer, we're going to return our Omega.
if you guys give the Omega a try, let me know what you think.

My buddy who I have convinced to go on a 10 day juice fast went right out and bought the most expensive juicer he could find. The Omega (something or other) cost him about $220.

Similar ingredients just more of a smoothie consistency.
Benefit from the fiber and definitely increases my vegetable intake which I am lacking.

Tried a version of The Warrior Diet and Low Carb gigs.
Felt like shit.
Was very moody.
Threw some pasta in there, cheese, meat....and I feel pretty good.
Remember the Juice Guy.....One day he had 9 ' eyebrows.
Can even workout a little hung over.....diet's important....![]()

weighed in at 233 this morning. Had dieted my way down to 218 before thanksgiving last year,,,,ate for the holidays and slipped up thru NYE. Started working out more this year, and with strict carb regulation, havent been able to get below 224
i'm not real hung up on the weight, i feel good, and my body has still been reshaping for the better. Enough of the people that i get my info from on nutrition, are big fans of a juicing detox, so i figured i'd give it a whirl. Still doesn't make complete sense to me why it would work for weight loss (fat loss), especially at the pace rick experienced, but there's one way to find out what it will do for me,,,,,,
my aim is the Green Drink from the jointhereboot recipes, one in the morning and one at night. Rick, were you 100% strict with this as your diet? or can i sneak in an avocado or two for breakfast on my 15 hour work day

what are you doing for protein?
what are you doing for protein?
It makes sense.....most people eat alot of junk which includes sugas, flour/wheat etc. and not enough healthy foods such as fruits and veg which has alot of nutrients that our body naturally needs. So if all you consume are veg and fruits, especially alot of greens it's only natural that your body, mind and spirit benefits significantly from it. It ultimately nourishes our body and feeds it what it needs rather than injecting it with the horrible stuff some eat everyday .
I'm currently juicing for my wife who has gained weight after having 2 kids. Atm i am juicing apples, carrots, celery, tomatoes, spinach, ginger, beetroot, oranges and some mint.
Goodluck everybody. and good health to you all

probably good advice lol. my coworkers wife just had their first baby, and ended up having to do a c-section, so i have begun picking up some hours for him and will have to do more for the next two weeks. So , for now i'll just juice thru the produce i have when i can, and see if i get a 7 day window soon where i can attempt the fast
I have to say, the first day that i had juice for bfast, after working out, i felt hungry all day. My carb intake is normally very low and my energy burn is very 'fat-adaptive', so i can often go all day (like yesterday up at 5am and worked till 7pm, first bite of food at 730pm) and not feel hungry or drained, so maybe it was just a mental thing about preparing myself to be hungry.

It is also smart to ease into it. It prevents falling off the wagon.
